Avantages

A lot of very knowledgeable people and the opportunity to learn the industry is wonderful. Truly have revenue cycle down to a science.

Inconvénients

Management openly plays favorites and if you aren't there you won't be, It is definitely a who you know and not what you know company and that is highly frustrating. Management can be openly hostile to dedicated employees in their ignorance of what actually is happening with clients. The company repeatedly tries to reinvent itself and it can be a drag to live through all of the latest and greatest management initiatives, only to be replaced a few months later for the next one. Turnover is horrible. As employees leave you're always left guessing as to who remains and where job responsibilities have been reassigned. Redefining the culture should include looking at key people who may have the knowledge but are miserable at working with and supervising people. Employees are not widgets, to be handled and moved any way you like, only to be discarded as a result of still more mismanagement from above.

Avantages

The voluntary separation offer was good.

Inconvénients

I and hundreds of colleagues were transferred from Providence Health & Services to R1. We were told we were guaranteed our jobs for a year. They started offering voluntary separation packages less than a year in. This was suspicious. I didn't take the first couple of offers, but eventually I did - things were feeling uneasy. Since leaving I've heard that there were several layoffs. R1's India team has taken over a lot of the coding we were doing. In the reviews I read before we started with R1 I know losing jobs to the India team was common. I'm glad I left when I did but it's been hard finding a new job.
