Avantages

-Remote work is a plus. -The benefits are above average -If you have the right mentor or manager, you can really find ways to develop yourself by leaps and bounds. -Company has not capitulated on their morals in the current political climate, like so many large companies have.

Inconvénients

-If you are remote or out of state, there is a lot of travel for roles that don’t necessitate it. -The Kool Aid is strong. It feels like everyone has been at Progressive for decades. The company is doing well, but they’re often seemingly high on their own supply. As long as the company’s gainshare is solid, there seems to be a lot of general contentment around day to day work. If you are fine with “good enough,” then it’s great. -The company emphasizes how they are essentially a company driven by analytics and technology. From my experience serving as analytics support for several years, that varies greatly by team. Many are far too comfortable putting out numbers that do not make sense. I am often surprised how “senior” analytics staff string together reports that are surface level and lack cohesion. I struggle to sense much passion for what the job entails. -All senior leaders look for is if the numbers add up. They don’t really question much or look past that. As a result, quality of analysis is low. Analytics discussion often feels like a waste of time because the analysis is poor and stakeholders on all levels are not asking the right questions. -There is a lot of company restructuring. I have been a part of several re-orgs and it’s nearly always unpleasant. People arbitrarily change teams, teams are left without leadership for long durations, and it often feels like there is a lack of stability. -It’s a big company and it feels like it. It doesn’t matter how good of a job you do, if you do not follow some of the corporate norms, you can be in the dog house. They preach about individuality, but those who move up at Progressive tend to be those who follow all the rules vs an excellent contributor who maybe isn’t always dressed to the nines.

Avantages

Best company I have ever worked for.

Inconvénients

Can't think of any. Working remotely gets lonely at times but that's not Progressive's fault.

Avantages

Work from home and flexible scheduling, can slide schedule up to two hours to accommodate appointments, etc.

Inconvénients

Unrealistic claim volume, it ramps up slowly when you're in training and then you start getting so many claims you don't know what to do with them. Customer service is constantly preached, but it's not possible to return voicemails, texts and emails timely while managing 20 claims a day. They keep increasing volume, and you have to spend a minimum of 5 hours a week taking live calls, during which you cannot make any calls out on your own claims, and are required to work each claim you take a call on to it's fullest point, even when they are brand new and unassigned, taking you away from taking action on your own claims that could prevent calls. They are incorporating AI and digital tools that were intended to simplify the process and reduce phone time, but customers are upset and refuse to participate, which means claims are delayed awaiting digital statements, and then need more phone calls anyway. The expectations are outrageous.
