Avantages
Flexible, relaxed atmosphere. I liked my co-workers and everyone for the most part was friendly. Easy commute via Metra from Chicago to Highland Park as it goes against rush hour traffic. It was great to be able to sit and relax on the Metra everyday and catch up on reading. Highland Park is a nice area.
Inconvénients
No raises, and no career advancement or potential. Management plays "favorites" and it will be obvious but they don't care. No incentives to work harder and nothing to strive for - management has absolutely no understanding of this and wonders why people don't take initiative (there's no payback). Bogus benefit of stock options which will only be valuable if company is sold, yet owner has shown no sign or inclination of selling even though he is now semi-retired. Inconsistent bonus structure where some employees get bonuses every quarter yet others are told at the same time that there is no money for bonuses.
