Avantages

Work from home. Great PTO when you can take it. Good benefits package, reasonable costs. 401K match is ok. Old solutions but still have a place in the market.

Inconvénients

Outrageously high turn over for Account Executives and Solution Consultants. So many new people that it takes over a year to close your first deal, unless you are lucky. Less than 10% of AE’s make their quota. Management manages KPI’s, not sales opportunities. Expect a tongue lashing when you miss your weekly KPI’s. Annual ethics, security online training. Too bad this is not enforced in the field. So many bad deals and deceptive selling takes place. Close the deal at whatever costs. Organic growth is minimal and acquisitions are they way Opentext continues to thrive. Deal splits are common in many deals and executive management allows higher splits than what the rules for splits dictate. Inside Sales is allowed to grab deals even when the account is specifically named. Executive Management allows it to happen. Cloud deals max payout is 50% MCV. Sap deals get only 40% commission. Delayed commissions on maintenance revenue from SAP by 4 months. If you leave, you don’t get paid.

Avantages

Pros was that you had a job (and not for long if they find a way to outsource your position in the company).

Inconvénients

Cons are so many to list, but from the leadership in this company being so out of touch with his/her employees, the restructuring done in their company to save some bucks on their end was crazy brutal, firing all of their talented workers to implement automated programs that did not function properly. Overall, horrible experience with OpenText, lies upon lies when it came to growth opportunities and keeping teams in the dark, no communication what so ever. Their business practices were just plain terrible.
