Avantages

It is a nice place to work. People are pleasant and polite. Pay rates are some what competitive. Politics are not nearly as intense as I've experienced at EMC, which is very refreshing. NetApp supports moving around in the company to allow yourself to stay fresh.

Inconvénients

Like anyplace, there are many. Many people inside no longer believe that NetApp has the product line that is relevant going forward. NetApp response to market forces has been exceedingly slow. Huge gaps are being exploited by every competitor, and many are now looking actively for better opportunities. Because of the exodus of talent, gaps are forming in teams that now others have to cover. That makes your work day much more challenging, but not is a positive forward moving way. Training is a big issue - it is hard to get what you need or want. Unfortunately a lot of lip service is paid to professional development, but getting it means money, and that is often pulled. We keep lousy people far too long. Getting rid of dead wood here is next to impossible. Great ideas get pushed aside constantly.

Avantages

Amongst the top companies in the data storage industry = company stability.

Inconvénients

If you'd ask me a year or 2 ago, I would have given the company 5 stars. But, as with most tech companies now, they've started to follow the trend of return to office, regardless of logic. There's little to no room for exceptions and the company would rather sacrifice productivity regardless if they know the hardships for people living in metros (one way commute to the NY or SJC office can take 2 hours one way!) - that and there's no commuter benefits. You have to pay out of pocket and live in fear of not receiving your bonus if you miss the "thrive together" quarterly requirements.
