Avantages

- Good pay & benefits - Depending on where you are, there are a lot of great teams with a collaborative culture. - This matters less with Covid, but the office location in Boulder was incredible. Beautiful patio views, great access to Boulder's best restaurants. Free beer, kombucha, cider, & popcorn. - My managers at NetApp were very supportive and trusting. I always felt like my voice mattered and my managers took the time to mentor me. - NetApp has invested a ton in building a diverse workforce. There's always room for improvement, but NetApp employees are very diverse and it was much appreciated to see that in a tech company.

Inconvénients

- Becoming more & more top-down with decision-making. Lots of politics in play the higher up you are. - There are many initiatives that can sometimes consume a lot of individuals, but there's little accountability with the "success" of these initiatives. It's common to see people praised/promoted for doing things versus truly delivering value. - Waterfall development + a lot of process = slow, late product delivery. This is a typical big-company thing.

Avantages

Amongst the top companies in the data storage industry = company stability.

Inconvénients

If you'd ask me a year or 2 ago, I would have given the company 5 stars. But, as with most tech companies now, they've started to follow the trend of return to office, regardless of logic. There's little to no room for exceptions and the company would rather sacrifice productivity regardless if they know the hardships for people living in metros (one way commute to the NY or SJC office can take 2 hours one way!) - that and there's no commuter benefits. You have to pay out of pocket and live in fear of not receiving your bonus if you miss the "thrive together" quarterly requirements.
