I never expected to be here 6+ years, but have because at every phase of my journey I've been challenged and developed. I moved into leadership because I saw that my leaders were getting similar development to what I received as an IC. I figured there was no better place & system for me to learn to be a leader. The financial upside opportunity in sales is second to none, both in attainment / commission, and equity opportunity. Many 7 figure earners in sales. Because of the culture of development, Mongo believes it can promote and develop the best leaders from within versus hiring all leaders from outside.
Inconvénients
This is a complex space to sell into, and not for everyone. It takes genuine and deep curiosity to develop a strong enough understanding of our customers, our technology and the business problems it solves, and the tech ecosystem we exist in, to be quickly and continually successful. This is true for sales ICs and leaders.
