Avantages

MetroPath is a family company that (Since 1913) values the individual, and the individuals family, as much as the individual's contributions to the corporation. The company is owned and operated by the pathologists. Not a corporate feel at all. We work with our owners. Our upper level management works with us to give us the tools we need to succeed. Great place to work!!

Inconvénients

None that I can think of. Although, if you like a climb-the-ladder corporate environment, this is not the place for you. Try the big, publicly-traded corporate labs. There are plenty of them.

Avantages

Good pay and benefits; good location

Inconvénients

More cons than pros. Management was harsh, even cold or cool at times. Co-workers in the small department I worked were competitive, dishonest during my training about my work. One was obnoxious and loudly, open humiliation. Office politics. Job was promised as committed to me, then changed that suddenly giving my job to former employee and were going to surprise me at the very last minute. Former employee returned on agreement she could work from home and had left due to "Hostile work environment." Can be very harsh social environment in department where I worked. Back to management: Demanding, several times harshly criticized and even accused me with judgement call on my character. Training was not competent as a trainer and again, dishonest. I would not recommend this company other than the pay and benefits. Did not give adequate time, the usual three to six months, to learn the complexities of the job. Bad management and unreasonable ownership expectations (for the money, of course; "it's a business."
