Avantages

Great colleagues! The people you work with are generally smart, dedicated, collaborative, and helpful. Lots of PTO. Many remote positions and/or flexible working options. You get to be a part of new, innovative therapies. Frequent opportunities for promotion and role changes. Line managers are generally supportive and helpful.

Inconvénients

I used to love my job, but it's gone downhill since LabCorp entered the picture. Health insurance was gutted and premiums increased significantly. Coverage is now terrible. Enjoy completing "wellness" activities for discounts and being forced to use LabCorp for your lab work so that they can profit off your data. Insane focus on metrics, which are not gathered accurately. Prepare to defend yourself constantly and inform them why their metrics are incorrect. No work-life balance. People frequently work 70+ hours a week. There's a lot of talk about improving it, but never any action. A lot of employee turnover, which makes more work for everyone and only exacerbates the work-life balance issue. Many directives from Sr. Management on "areas for improvement" for certain groups without additional support or employees to make those improvements feasible. So many silos. Outdated budgeting processes which set study teams up for failure. Refusal to push back on increasingly demanding clients leading to budgetary issues and additional team stress.

Avantages

Very low proc rate. I can draw blood with my non dominate arm as well. I've done many split shifts for LabCorp. I've traveled a lot for LabCorp. Sometimes 2hrs in a single day. I go above and beyond. In so much that Advanced Cardiology only wants me to be their tech and no one else. They love having me as their tech. I take out Advanced Cardiology's trash and boxes to the dumpster for them. I do deep dives to ensure the very rare specialty tests are done exactly the way the doctors want them since these test codes are rarely given. And when PTs want a curtesy copy sent to another doctor I make sure to put it in the system and make an additional attachment,. Which makes the PTs very happy😁I also cover Rowan OB/GYN at night when ask at the Sper of the moment. I'm very willing to go above and beyond for my supervisor. I stayed on the clock even though I pulled a muscle around my ribcage and I was struggling to breath; it was hard to keep my asthma under control...I didn't want to inconvenience LabCorp by leaving. So I went to the hospital after my shift.

Inconvénients

speed even though I've done a 25 PT volume IOP by my self.

Avantages

None whatsoever. Everything they advertise as a pro has fineprint that renders it completely useless.

Inconvénients

Wish I could have given zero stars, 1 star feels like lying. The most important thing is that they will mess you over without a second thought. For those who may have just started at the company, quit now before they mess you over. Don't be deceived by the benefits they advertise. Don't think you're valued because they will turn on you the second keeping you as part of the team inconveniences them. They don't pay fairly and blow off people who need to make a living. On top of trash pay, the work environment will have you hating what you do even while you're actively helping people. At PSCs, you're severely overworked and under a microscope. As an IOP, you're underappreciated and taken advantage of. The way they do business is very shady. They constantly have lawsuits against them, Google it. I saw the reviews and didn't listen because I thought a bad job was better than no job in this economy. I was so wrong. For your own mental health, and overall finances, don't work here. EVER. There are other jobs out there that pay fairly and aren't toxic. I found one and am so happy because I could have been trapped in a company going nowhere. Now I am paid what I'm worth and growing in my career, not just stuck choosing between being a phlebotomist, float or a high-stress supervisor. Just wait for a better job. I promise, the trash pay and stress are NOT worth the gas you'll waste driving all over the place even when you're not a float. Just don't do it.
