Avantages

Still a very relevant topic within the industry, you have opportunity to meet with both senior level agency contacts and clients directly. There are a lot of smart people who are pretty accessible if you make an effort to seek them out. Depending on your team and manager, pretty good work/life/telecommuting setup.

Inconvénients

Senior sales leadership is terrible; they're entirely focused on their own job security and compensation post acquisition. Sales plans are being announced when the quarter is practically over, and everyone is being paid on accounts just inherited -- and the plan includes a high floor that could mean zero commission. No plans have been put in writing yet, which is another example of how bloated and inefficient the HR and finance teams are. We're kept in the dark about what our commission will be until the last minute. I usually don't know my own quarterly/annual attainment until a paycheck hits my bank account. Impossible to track revenue or understand calculations for commission, despite asking for detail. No idea how quotas are set. No per account quota or revenue data provided, despite requests. Very shady. Big growth targets, despite having no new products to sell and having fallen behind on the tech side. Leadership is completely out of touch on what the actual sale cycle or sales challenges are. Any revenue data we do receive is incredibly confusing because of multiple, unexplained "credits" issued by finance. No finance data matches actual volume that we pull. Impossible to know how you're tracking. Sales ops and sales support has become a huge team, but our processes have become very complicated with both employees and clients getting fed up. Finance continues to be a nightmare and not accountable. Invoice issues go unresolved or unresponded to. Clients are angry and IAS employees are caught in the middle regularly. We've lost business over it, and salespeople are penalized.

The practices we employ in our commission plans are based on best practice and evolve every year. While we can appreciate that change is difficult as the company moves from a small organization to a global organization at scale, it is necessary for us to look at continuous improvements which may create some getting used to. At this point, I have nothing good to say about this company.

Inconvénients

When interviewing, I was asked straight up if "I was ready to work overtime and on weekends." I was told this was an expectation rather than a potential good effort. When I joined, I was tested vigorously after already getting the job. The tests were confusing and the answers were not obvious. The documentation was unreadable. This was after an application test and four rounds of interviews. When I worked as hard as possible, asked a weekly check-in call to keep my questions from being a problem, and worked late, I was told "I was working too hard" and that my work was below standard. When I got married, management told me that needing to take an appointment for my wedding was inconveniencing the business. I was fired while celebrating a religious holiday. No reason given. I had to beg to get the bonus that I earned as part of my severance package. After I was let go, my manager left the team entirely. The CEO and management pretends that they are kind people who support their workers. Unfortunately 90% of the company is clouded by anger issues, mired in personal attacks, and struggling with feedback that is unclear and conflicting. I am unclear how this company has gotten so many awards for diversity. I only saw minorities let go during my time at the company. The few people who are actually good at their job are fighting constantly to keep up with the environment. I'm shocked they even have a product that works given the company's disorganization and culture.
