      Avantages

      After being exposed to other benefit options in the region, Inova’s benefits are actually pretty good. The day shift team in my department was great.

      Inconvénients

      Chronically short staffed, do not pay well, made a big deal about switching to a “merit based” eval system with raises…. Which apparently means employees eval themselves, upper management glances at it and “has no control over the money part of things” to give employees what they’re worth, until the employee decides to leave. Communication between departments that work closely together is dismal despite meetings, talks, emails and years long efforts with no lasting change. Equipment for the department that was requested before the pandemic even began took literally years to get ordered and arrive.

That said, we are disappointed to hear that your overall experience at Inova was not positive. We put tremendous effort into providing the support needed for our team members to be successful. We understand that as we accommodate a higher volume of patients, our team members may experience variations in workload. We are continuing our hiring efforts in order to provide some relief and continue delivering excellent patient care. As we continue to grow as an organization, we recognize there will be opportunities for improvement.       Avantages

      Good benefits, professional colleagues, and strong technical talent. In the IT, analytics, and data space, Inova has been more forward-looking than many health systems, with willingness to adopt modern tools and practices. There is also relatively less bureaucracy compared with some other healthcare organizations.

      Inconvénients

      For AI and Data Solutions career growth and scope can feel heavily influenced by prior relationships and leadership networks. When new leaders join, they often bring trusted colleagues from previous organizations, and those individuals may receive faster access to strategic work, visibility, and advancement opportunities. This can create the perception that internal merit, institutional knowledge, and long-term contribution are not always enough to access the best opportunities unless an employee is already connected to a senior leader or part of an incoming leadership network. Over time, this can make the culture feel fragmented across different legacy groups rather than like one unified Inova culture. There is a high level of nepotism and if you are not coming from Sharp, Parkland or Novant your growth, scope and visibility will be limited and you might be sidelined to grunt work.
