Small building facility issues need more support from families

I am in contact with a few of my former students. It's nice to know that a positive impression can be left in such a toxic environment.

I received no real help from anyone in the building. I was expected to have students perform exceptionally well on standardized testing even though they had not been my students for an entire school year. My effectiveness and next year's salary was partially based on standardized test. These students were my students for a few weeks before the test. I had students who were vulgar and abusive towards other students and myself. No adult in the building cared about other's poor experiences. High school students walked through spaces with small elementary students. My younger students got knocked around in the hallways and I was pushed by high school students who were incredibly rude. I had a young child run out of my class (he had gone out of the building before) the office said, "everyone's in a meeting and I don't care right now."
