Inconvénients
The company is already horrible, but management is just a bunch of people who miss being the mean girl in high school. Management is incompetent and rude to customers, customers are rude to staff. It's very clique-y and if the managers don't like you then you're sort of screwed. Customers will be just rude and horrible to you, down to inappropriate comments that corporate won't do anything about. I often feel unsafe in my workplace. They work you way too much (5 days a week part time, basically no days off sometimes) for minimum wage (NOT A LIVABLE WAGE!) AND you're doing the work of 5 people. I've had managers give me verbal warnings for "not putting enough clothes away" even though I wasn't there for two days, and when I was there last, all I had done was put clothes away. Management power trips over everything. The store is a mess 24/7 and they will never help you clean, instead opting to berate you for not being able to work the counter and clean at the same time. Managers will talk about you behind your back. The customers here will try to flirt with you or grab you (happened to me and several others) and corporate does NOTHING! It's just absurd that I have to be afraid of my customers because I know Goodwill will do nothing about it. If you dust allergies, don't work here! I have asthma and I physically cannot do much manual labor (bending over to pick up clothes, carrying heavy objects) without feeling lightheaded and weak. Add dust and dander into that and I feel sick the entire time I work. TL;DR: a horrible company with bad managers and awful for disabled people, even though they advertise themselves as an opportunity for disabled people to work. As a disabled person, DO NOT WORK HERE
