Avantages

This review is long over due. I was a former employee at GPS Insight, and it is a great place to work with a great environment. The founder Robert Donat is a passionate owner who cares for his employees and company. Gary Fitzgerald is a competent compassion leader who is thoughtful to staff's input. The talent that GPS Insight tends to acquire is top notch. It was intimidating to work with some of the brightest development minds I have ever worked with, with my over a decade experience in the field. Some of the colleagues I have worked with are still part of my circle. There is a strong community with in the company. I was around when you use to get free Phoenix Suns and other event tickets. Not sure if they still do that now, but just shows the effort with team building management would take with the company.

Inconvénients

When I was working there, there was a huge shift in direction. So ideologies like agile with expanding corporate growth hit GPS Insight pretty hard. If you are more keen to small startups and more leeway, GPS Insight is definitely more enterprise. GPS Insight works hard and plays hard. If keeping up with excellent work is something you struggle with you may want to sharpen your skills before joining the team. Especially from a dev stand point the talent pool really had no junior devs. All the devs I would consider were senior.

Avantages

Working as part of the Marketing team at GPS Insight gives me the opportunity to take real ownership of marketing strategy and execution. The role is highly cross-functional, collaborating closely with sales, partnerships, and leadership, which makes the work dynamic and impactful. There’s a lot of autonomy, I feel like I can make a noticeable difference. The company is growing, and that creates opportunities to test new ideas, build programs from the ground up, and expand my skill set. From the executive team down, everyone is supportive and helpful, the work environment is positive.

Inconvénients

Like many growing organizations, priorities can shift quickly, and processes aren’t always fully defined. This can lead to some ambiguity and the need to adapt on the fly. Resource constraints can occasionally make it challenging also. But, this type of environment also provides the opportunity to make changes and create processes as needed.

Avantages

You can actually talk to the people running things here which honestly surprised me. I've heard horror stories from friends at other companies where leadership is totally untouchable but that's just not the case here. Someone higher up will genuinely stop and hear you out and it doesn't feel like a performance. The recent manager shuffles have also been a good sign. It feels like things are actually being thought through instead of just left the way they've always been. Stuff that felt stuck is starting to move and that makes a difference when you're new and trying to figure out where you fit.

Inconvénients

There are a few people who have clearly been here forever and act like that gives them a pass to treat people however they want. We're talking openly rude, dismissive, and sometimes just straight up aggressive toward coworkers for no real reason. A couple of them are so loud on the floor it's honestly kind of jarring, like full volume conversations and the occasional yelling that makes it hard to focus. The worst part is nothing seems to happen about it. Everyone sees it and everyone knows who it is. When certain people never face any consequences it starts to feel pretty demoralizing especially when you're new and just trying to do your job.
