Avantages
I would say the benefits have improved. However, I am still receiving $1,000 bills from the insurance, which I never encountered while on my private insurance. The deductible is $2,500, so overall, things have gotten better versus having a $10,000 deductible. I would much rather meet the $2,500 deductible. Additionally, the training budget is no longer just a glorified loan; they no longer require repayment if you don’t pass the course. This change has made the training budget more accessible and has encouraged more people to utilize it.
Inconvénients
The only complaint I have, and this is not ECS's fault, is related to the structure of the contract in NM, where we operate under an umbrella company called Encantado. While we are all supposed to be on the same team as employees of Encantado, I have discovered that certain groups within Encantado engage in tactics to take work from others. I am currently experiencing this issue firsthand, as a different group within Encantado is using an SLA to take work from my group. This group has a conflict of interest in being the ones who create the SLA. They are coming in and saying, "Well, if you use our services (which you are forced to do), then all of the computers you support are now ours to manage." This creates a very biased process. This group is motivated to secure more work for their technicians while simultaneously being the ones who set the terms for other groups to use their services. They hold all the power while creating the SLA and that causes a huge ethical concern because this group is not a neutral third-party. Although we are all supposed to be on the same team, this situation creates an unfair advantage when it comes to work for other groups. Once again this is not ECS's fault, but a cultural issue within the umbrella company Encantado.
