Pay some people very well (me and few others) but the rest get terrible money.
Recruit trainees (which is good), pay them a pittance, then farm them out as “consultants” with barely any experience, and charge the going rate for an experienced person.
Most of the upper management and sales team are dinosaurs that still work in draconian ways and are actually clueless when it comes to modern testing practices and technology.
Head office in Strathclyde business park is a dump. I’d be ashamed to bring clients there.
Trainees tend to stick around and then leave after realising they are underpaid, or put into unsuitable roles or just a “bum on a seat” / “cash cow”. They tend to leave after they have passed the point where they don’t have to pay Edge money back for the training they are given - circa 2 yrs. (at which point, there’s a good chance that the company has skinned a fair chunk of cash of the back of them after farming them out)
The “benefits package” is the worst of any company I have ever worked for in nearly 30 years. No sick pay, minimal legal pension contribution, bonus is a joke as it’s not based on your performance or even the companies, it’s if you can win them business!! 😂
Even compared to other consultancies where everyone is a essentially a cash-cow they are abysmal.
