      Avantages

      The product is very mission driven, and many people are there to really make a give a eduction

      Inconvénients

      For a small company, there is a lot of red type and a huge lack of diversity at the top that never seems to change.

      I think this person worked here a while ago, but worth addressing the diversity at the top comment. When this person worked at Codecademy, we were 100% white. Now we are 25% non-white. Gender diversity has gone from 12% female to 25% today. It’s been a focus and will continue to be a focus, but no question that’s going to be a slow change.

      Avantages

      It's nice working for a company that helps people learn and generally provides a good things for the world.

      Inconvénients

      Has a great brand and a large user base, but isn't really sure how to monetize it. People just don't really want to pay for online education. Skillsoft seems like a sinking ship. They declared chapter 11 bankruptcy shortly before acquiring Codecademy. I wish the old leadership of Codecademy had pursued an acquisition that would have set the company up for long term success instead of just trying to exit at the highest price they could get
