Avantages

- relaxed environment. casual dress. lots of PTO, very flexible about usage. - lots of really smart people working here to learn from - really good about telling you when you've been performing well

Inconvénients

- no 401k matching - waste time appeasing needy clients with one-off developments rather than focus on improving application architecture as a whole. - not very good at telling people when they've been performing poorly. bad seeds stick around too long.

Avantages

Incredible sense of community with a very family-oriented vibe. Small tech startup environment was very encouraging and supportive of educating new employees. Great benefits for being so small - 401k, health, dental, vision, transportation reimbursement, stock options, work from home, etc. Conveniently located directly on top of the Bethesda red line Metro station.

Inconvénients

Wide vision that was not very refined. Focused on delighting customers at all costs rather than architecting a stable, scalable product. Most decisions on the future of the product come off as very knee-jerk and last minute panic mode reactions.

Avantages

Coderyte was a great place to work. The location was ideal, right in the center of Bethesda on the 8th floor with great views. The technology was fun and interesting and the people at Coderyte were some of the best people I've worked with. A lot has changed with 3m's acquisition. There isn't as much fun there anymore, but it's a good, secure job, with good pay and without a lot of stress.

Inconvénients

For starters, CodeRyte doesn't exist anymore. After 3m purchased CodeRyte, a lot of the fun was replaced with security and benefits. Which I guess is nice, but the new location is in the middle of nowhere, and most people spend half of their day in meetings, doing six sigma projects, filling out reviews or goals or tracking time.
