Its a job, but that's about it ... oh, if you play your cards right, you can work from home.
Inconvénients
Pressure is on, long hours, short term objectives, no long term planning. Multi layer management, little rewards, no training ( apart from silly "how to sit on your chair" health & safety stuff) USA driven by guys in ivory towers with the bottom line in site all the time. If you don't work in Aldershot, you don't exist! Question: If CSC take a workload on that was managed by 5 systems programmers at customer site, how many CSC system programmers will it take to manage it? Answer ... You and 2 indians who know nothing about it, can barely speak english & who leave a few months later ... oh, by the way that's managing it alongside your other 20-30 systems as well and ...... whoops, sorry , just been outsourced to another major supplier myself!
