Avantages
- I have (had) a good team. Naturally, most of them left. - Pay is industry average (on the assumption of a 9-6pm job. Of course that's not the case. Considering the amount of OT employees do, if we were paid for those hours, we would be very, very much richer.)
Inconvénients
- Empty vessels make the most noise, but some part of management is blind to this. - Work is not credited in due. People copy & paste and claim it as their own. - For every person who leaves, there is no replacement, and no intention of replacement. Like communism, work is re-distributed to the "survivors". - Very traditional mindset that it is impossible to advance beyond superiors. - Solutions/Delivery team double (triple) up as presales team - Annual increment is peanuts. Heard the promotion one is even worse. - No autonomy at work - "This is how it has always been done" attitude. No room to negotiate change for the better - Proximity to power makes some believe they wield it. -All resources are put down for all tasks. Decision makers do not understand the concept of context switching, and that it actually takes time for an individual to learn a substantial amount of information before being able to carry out a given task. People can get pulled out of projects 1-2 weeks before go-live and (sometimes) replaced with another 'more available' individual who has no clue what is happening. Who's to blame here when the individual is unable to perform? - There was an anonymous (so they say) “Great Place to Work” survey conducted in Sept 17. Think the results were so bad the company never published it (last I checked, not sure about now).
