Avantages
Aldi provide a good wage compared to other supermarkets (however after recent research I've discovered that Lidl are now getting paid over £1 per hour more than us!) Lots of benefits including half price cinema tickets (every cinema, everywhere), discounts on Virgin Media and more through the Aldi benefits website.
Inconvénients
Very focused on time targets, some of which can be back-breaking, especially when it's busy. Probably specific to my store but management are very cliquey and often don't confide in store assistants to do the job properly in a condescending way when in reality we are more than capable. Work hours are more or less either 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm which is hard when you want to have a social life. Don't get me wrong it's suitable for students who are working around uni times. For an 8 hour shift or longer you get 1 paid break for 30 minutes - not long enough. We do a lot of work and deserve at least a 45 minute break. It's a very tiring job and the least they could do is offer us a longer break.
