J'ai travaillé chez University of Manchester en Contrat Permanent (Plus d'un an)
Large employer, so great work-life help, e.g. relaxation and sports sessions. Lots of opportunities for training if you're on the main campus (see below). Fairly well-paid. Generally a good place to work.
However, if you're based in an off-site team (not on the main campus), then you are extremely isolated. No time was made available for us to go onto the main campus to take part in the sessions or training and nobody from main campus every bothered to offer to come over to us.
Also, very little opportunity for promotion in the area I was in. Be aware that you may have to move departments in order to progress, as people tend to stay in the same job for a long time and block the path upwards for other people.
Conseils à la direction
Involve off-site teams more in your training and programmes, please!
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé une entrevue à University of Manchester (Manchester, Angleterre (Royaume-Uni)).
I applied through their website, filled an application form in and emailed it to the relevant person. I was shortlisted for an interview within a week. They arranged an interview with me and asked me to deliver a demo lesson. It went really well. The interview panel was very friendly, approachable and professional people who knew what they wanted. I was pleased that I was offered the job at the end of the interview.
