    Entretien de Software Developer C#

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
    Aucune offre d'embauche
    Expérience négative
    Difficulté moyenne

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris +4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à Morgan Stanley.

Phone interview for an hour, and than on site interview for 3.5 hours.
Due to coronavirus, the onsite interview was changed to Skype interview

It was horrible, one of the interviewer keep asking questions that are not clear. He asked me what I did in my previous position and before I can explain, he cuts me and say he doesn't want me to simply tell him what I did in my previous position. He needs me to explain with inheritance and tell him how I design my solutions and provide implementation detail regarding how I notified the users. I told him, the system was already in place, and I only had to call the library, he then continue to ask me an unclear yet very long question, which summarize to, "how would you have design it".
If you are doing a skype interview and your mic is horrible, be concise with your question.
The same guy then told me to open notepad and write a console application to determine if a number is a prime number, and told me to think of it as an actual library and keep it professional, yet he did not give me any requirement. As it was in notepad, I would assume syntax doesn't really matter so I write out code and explain my process, but turns out the only thing he care is syntax and told me to go on this slow online compiler to get my code working.
When that interview is over and another interviewer join and ask me to write a different program, I asked the new interviewer if I can do it in notepad and if syntax matters, before the new interviewer can answer, the same dude stayed on the line and cut him off an told me to simply stick with the compiler.

If syntax matters and compilation matter to you more than logic, please inform your HR to have the interviewee install visual studio or don't enforce people to use a laptop with webcam, so I can use my other computer with visual studio.
