    J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris +3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à Kidde (Ashland, MA (États-Unis)) en septembre 2015.

    Entretien

    I applied online and then was invited by HR to come in for an interview. I thought it was odd that they skipped the phone interview process, but apparently the company is in dire need to hire engineers. Their office in Chicago is closing, and few people wanted to make the move to the Boston area. My meetings with the HR rep and direct manager went well, and I was told that I could also be considered for two positions in Applications Engineering and two positions in Mechanical Engineering.

    When I met with the department manager (who had apparently been there for less than a month), he immediately started pushing for me to consider a Technical Support role. He asked me if I liked to problem solve, and that tech support solves ALL problems. He asked me if I was smart, and if I was just saying yes because we were in an interview. He also said that I seemed to be "born with customer service qualities" and would be a great fit for technical support. And that the engineers "chew people up". He then took me back to HR in order to schedule another interview with the Technical Support Manager the following week. I emailed HR to reiterate my interest in engineering roles (and not tech support). Haven't heard back since. The interview was insulting (vaguely sexist) and a huge waste of time.
