J'ai travaillé chez CGI Communications à temps plein (Moins d'un an)

I absolutely love CGI and everything they stand for as a company. Granted, I was only there for a month before being let go, but during that month I got a generally good feel as to why there is still so many people who get the job and keep the job. Yes, this was a sales job, but there was absolutely no stereotypical scummy-ness to it. The product(s) you're pitching are backed by local governments and CGI nearly feeds you almostttttt every word to say during your pitch to the clients which makes it all really easy to stand behind, which is awesome when you're in sales.

While I do not think there are any skeletons in the closet per se, I do think that CGI does a pretty good job of disguising the fact that if you're not performing, you'll be cut loose, quick. I was only there a month and ten days (per this review) but long story short, I was not performing as quickly as some other new hires and I was given a verbal warning and then terminated a week later. You're job in sales at CGI is still a sales job, yes, but during training it was said that we have essentially three months to get acclimated to the job before they consider firing you based off your numbers.

    Conseils à la direction

I feel like everyone at CGI is generally pretty transparent, but maybe my piece of advice would be to be a weeee bit more understanding to the new hires. Like I said, my numbers were pretty down, but I had only been there a month and did not have much time to prove that they could be improved. There's no hard feelings, I will still recommend CGI to all who ask me about it. Just wish things would not have ended so abruptly.

    Entretien de Web Designer

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme - Rochester, NY (États-Unis)
    Offres d'embauche déclinées
    Expérience positive
    Entretien facile

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 5 jours. J'ai passé un entretien à CGI Communications (Rochester, NY (États-Unis)) en février 2018.

They were hiring 5 designers for their Web Design position. I came in for an interview with the two creative directors, but it ended up only being one. Just a typical get-to-know-you interview, get a feel for me as a person, me getting a feel for the position, company, and office. Reviewed some work on my portfolio but that wasn't too extensive as we were running out of time. She showed some examples of web work they do for their clients and the process they use for that.

I was contacted for a second interview scheduled for the next week. Interview 1:1 with the other director in the same format, just faster and a little different, and then did a 30 minute practical "test" they'd never done before. I met with one of their designers who took me through their WordPress (they only "design" in WP) and had me take 30 minutes with a real client brief, copy, and assets to see what I could do. I obviously didn't get super far and it didn't look great in 30 minutes, but it wasn't a big deal.

Had a short recap with the two CD's and the staff designer and they said I'd hear back the next week. I got a phone call and an offer letter via email the next day, and had to respond within two days.

    Questions d'entretien d'embauche

    • They put 5 words on a whiteboard and asked how I'd rank them from 1-5 for what was most important to me and why. Some of them were: salary, job title, work/life balance, etc   Répondre à cette question
