Baxter has two global business units: Hospital Products and Renal.
Baxter’s Hospital Products business manufactures products used in the delivery of fluids and drugs to patients across the continuum of care. These include IV and other sterile solutions and administration sets, premixed drugs and drug-reconstitution systems, IV nutrition products, infusion pumps, and inhalation anesthetics. The business also provides products and services related to pharmacy compounding, drug formulation, and packaging technologies.

Baxter’s Renal portfolio addresses the needs of patients with kidney failure or kidney disease, and their healthcare providers, with a comprehensive range of therapeutic options across home, in-center, and hospital settings for better individualized care. The portfolio includes innovative technologies and therapies for peritoneal dialysis, in-center and home hemodialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy, multi-organ extracorporeal support therapy, and additional dialysis services. Baxter in Canada
In 1937, Baxter expanded into Canada as the company’s first international location outside the United States. With Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario, today more than 1,100 employees help make a meaningful difference in the lives of Canadian patients, supporting Baxter’s operations across the country:
Baxter established its first Canadian manufacturing facility in Acton, Ontario In 1940. In 1957, the facility moved to its current location in Alliston. This facility is the longest standing parenteral solutions plant in Canada, and the only Canadian large scale manufacturer of peritoneal dialysis and IV Fluid solutions. The facility has 459 employees, and produces 73 million units each year across 256 product codes.
Canadian Pharmacy Services
For more than 29 years, Baxter CIVA Pharmacy Services has supported Canadian hospitals. Opening in May 2016, Baxter has invested $10 million to build a new facility in Mississauga, Ontario. CIVA has 69 employees, and supports Canadian hospitals, clinics and other care facilities with ready-to-administer intravenous (IV) admixtures. Each year it produces 1.25 million units across chemotherapy, high alert medications and anti-infectives, enabling pharmacists to focus on more direct patient care and clinical activities.
Canadian Technical Services
Baxter provides Canadian hospital customers, healthcare professionals and home patients with full device support through its Canadian Technical Services depots located in Mississauga ON, Richmond BC, and Montreal QC. The team of 80 employees supports product installations, upgrades, preventive maintenance, repairs and training for a smooth introduction of new devices. The technicians provide 24/7 hour technical support for 3,726 home renal patients in addition to in-hospital support for dialysis and water purification equipment. HomeChoice TM and P1.7 Spectrum pumps are serviced.
Canadian Water Operations
With the acquisition of Gambro in 2013, Baxter now serves renal patient needs from the hospital to the home. Baxter provides water purification systems to Canadian hospitals, healthcare facilities and alternate sites providing hemodialysis therapy, as well as to consulting engineers, architectural firms and construction companies.
Canada currently has over 1,000 portable water system units in the market and has over 160 CWP systems installed in medical facilities across Canada. Baxter also supports portable dialysis purification systems.
Our employees serve patients and clinicians in more than 100 countries and are dedicated to ensuring Baxter is there when patients need care, from hospitals and clinics to homes in rural areas and major cities.

Financial and Retirement
Through an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), Baxter employees have the opportunity to share in the growth the company generates for shareholders. The ESPP allows Baxter employees to purchase Baxter common stock each month at a discount through convenient payroll deductions with no brokerage fees.
Baxter offers a flexible pension plan that gives you a variety of choice in how you build financial security for your future. The pension program consists of two components: Compulsory Basic Defined Contribution Plan provides Baxter contribution of 3% of your Pensionable Earnings to an account in your name. The Optional Defined Contribution Plan gives you the opportunity to make a pre-tax contributions from 1-8% of your Pensionable Earnings and Baxter will make a 50% matching contribution to a maximum of 4% of your Pensionable Earnings (subject to tax deductible contribution room limits).
Employees can choose from a variety of investment funds and immediately vest (gain 100 percent ownership rights) in Baxter’s compulsory and matching contributions
Baxter’s educational assistance program invests in employee growth and professional development by providing tuition reimbursement for undergraduate courses at accredited institutions.
Paid holidays and vacation schedules vary by location, but generally include both standard holidays and company-designated days. In addition, Baxter offers paid vacation based on length of service.

The interview was conducted at their small boardroom together with Senior Manager, Supervisor, and myself. They are very friendly and welcoming. Questions are more likely to determine the applicant's personality and behaviour towards workplace. They gave the applicants time to think and answer the questions with no trace of pressure. They pay attention to the applicant's answers and write down notes for their review. At the end of the interview, they ask if the applicant has any question for them and let the applicant know when they will contact him/her for the results.
