Mission: We’re changing our world by putting people first and making dreams come true. The three goals of ATB 2.0 are to be #1 in every market that we're in, to be THE place to work, and to be loved and respected by Albertans.
ATB is not like other banks. We do not just see banking as transactions and numbers, but a way to create happiness for Albertans. At ATB, we embrace change and innovation, listening to our customers, and finding new ways to make banking smart, simple and helpful. We’re committed to always being loyal to our customers, to lean in and listen to their needs and aspirations.

When we talk about personal equity, we’re not talking about financial statements. At ATB, personal equity is our investment in your personal and professional growth. In being THE Place to Work, we know it takes exceptional people to truly listen to customer needs and provide the right service and expertise that matters. At ATB, we want to provide the tools, resources and support for you to be successful in everything you do! We understand the importance of listening, which is why we want to listen to your needs and development goals and ensure your story at ATB is a positive one.
Part of developing your personal equity is ensuring you can achieve a work/life balance in an environment that can accommodate you when “life happens”. No matter what event, myTime allows you to take the time that you need to manage both your work and personal commitments. With myTime, you will take – and be paid for – the time you need to look after your overall health and well-being each year. ATB not only supports and encourages, but expects you to take the time you need to relax and rejuvenate – which means taking a minimum of three weeks vacation per year. This is just one of the many examples of how ATB is not only THE Place to Work, but the Place to Be for all employees to succeed within the ATB community.
We love hearing stories from our customers about how ATB was able to create happiness for them. But we also love hearing about how ATB created happiness for our team members too. Below are some quotes from team members that well, make us happy.
Re: Our in-house leadership development programs
“Masterful Leadership is one of the BEST treasures that has ever come into my life, my career, my spirit and soul. Timely, for sure. Challenging, to the max! And life altering, definitely to the max!”
~ Sandy Broadbent
Re: Flexible work arrangements
“I came back to ATB after almost two years at home with my kids, and because of technology, I am able to have a three-day schedule in the office, allowing me to spend time with my girls while on-call Monday and Friday. This job gives me the best of both worlds, and leaves me fully engaged in every role I play at home, and at ATB.”
~ Megan Despanque
Re: Our awards for top team members
“My Market VP, manager and boyfriend collaborated to throw me a surprise party to announce I was a President’s League winner. It was so special because I knew the celebration was made just for me—especially the tiara, pink slippers and princess theme!”
~ Azi Sadighi
Re: ATB 101
“I never felt like 'just a summer student' at ATB. Even though it was challenging at times to balance every day tasks with the capstone project, I had the chance to be involved with meaningful work. I was pushed to get out of my comfort zone, to connect with people throughout ATB, to work as part of a team to develop a realistic business solution, and to practice presenting in front of our executives. It was a summer experience that I couldn't get anywhere else!" ~Lauren Phillips
Re: Our commitment to Albertan communities
“One of the most fun times I had giving back with ATB was for Easter Seals, decorating their camp lodge for Halloween and the Christmas holidays. Knowing our efforts created an enjoyable environment in which attendees could be themselves without being stereotyped or judged, was so rewarding.”
~ Daniel Leung
Your education and experience are important, of course, but credentials aren’t everything. Your personality—your values and your stories—are what make you stand out in a crowd. Are you a good fit for ATB? More importantly, perhaps: Is ATB a good fit for you?
Take this quick quiz. The only passing score is four out of four.
Do you want to make a difference while doing what you love?
Are you relentlessly seeking ways to grow into your best self?
Does working with a team of innovators sound cool?
Is having fun at work a non-negotiable for you?

Amazing culture - focus on team member experience is strong. Flexible workplace arrangements, support for health and mental wellness, personal development, career advancement, celebrate the wins!
They hire hard, so they can lead easy. Hiring process can be lengthy (as it should). Salary isn't always on par, but the benefits and work/life balance far make up for it.
Conseils à la direction
Continue to be transparent and honest. A bit of a disconnect from corporate (ATB Place, Edmonton) and Campus (Calgary).
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris +2 mois. J'ai passé un entretien à ATB Financial (Edmonton, AB) en juin 2018.
The people at ATB really knows how to bring out the real you. As an introvert, I did not feel stressed out at any time during the phone interview or the one on one interview. It felt like I was talking to a friend more than anything which really helped me open up and be myself. It was more of a conversation than an interview so it was a great experience where I learned just as much about ATB as they've learned about me. I feel that if you are a good fit for the company, you and your interviewer will most likely click.
