Je travaille chez VIPKid en tant qu'intérimaire (Plus d'un an)
--Ultimate flexibility in your schedule (if you plan ahead)
--You get to work with some amazing kids!
--The company/ teaching platform is very interested in improving the user experience for teachers.
--While they understandably can't fix each and every technical issue in the classroom, I have always found that the IT division in VIPKid (aka. the firemen) are incredibly responsive and supportive.
--A few teacher perks (tokens, six apple club) and tons of free workshops, resources, and courses.
--The interview process, while rigorous, does a great job of preparing you for teaching on their platform. New teachers will have plenty of time and support to learn the ropes.
--Work hours (that get really rough for people in the US/Canada during DST and will continue to get rougher when China passes the new laws regulating online teaching)
--Don't expect to get steady bookings right away (You may have to wait a week or as long as two months before you actually see a full teaching schedule. This could depend on when you're hired, how you market yourself, or sheer luck)
--The process of raising your base pay is difficult for teachers who aren't working full-time.
--I wish there was a method to communicate with a student's learning partner that is less one-way. Currently the main way to do this is to write a note in a classroom feedback form and hope it doesn't fall on deaf ears.
--While VIPKid has improved this over the years, their cancellation policy is still quite strict.
