Je travaille chez Rogers Communications à plein temps (Plus d'un an)
Avantages
I worked most of my life in Consulting Roles with various Service Based Companies. Rogers being my First Telecom company has taught me not only how a great company needs to be, but also how to be a better human being and show what work-life balance really means.
Inconvénients
Need to have more choices in the Cafeteria
Conseils à la direction
The Calculated risks you take are very forward-looking but would suggest implementing them at a slower pace so that the world is ready to accept the change which would not create havoc in the Stock Market.
Candidature
J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien à Rogers Communications (Brampton, ON) en février 2020.
Entretien
Interviewed in Rogers February 2020. Applied online got a call within a week. You can track your online application process on their website. Was given a call by a technical lead who asked some very basic questions on BGP answered most of the questions. This was more of a phone screen. Was invited for a onsite interview at Brampton, ON.
In person interview was mixture of technical background and interpersonal skills. Some of the technical questions were pretty deep dive on OSPF, MPLS and BGP. Was asked for favorite protocols and asked some questions on it.
And few other interpersonal skills in the interview which you need to answer on the fly. Questions regarding Strengths and weakness. They explained regarding the job at the start of the interview in very detail, also emphasize why you would want to join the job in general. So be prepared to answer the questions and go through the Job description in detail.
I did pretty well in the interview, I was therefore invited for final interview with the Director over the phone. Director asked some mix of technical and Interpersonal questions based on the resume. From the look of it, they already had a made decision to hire me. But I was not told regarding the decision.
And the unexpected Covid-19 pandemic hit with in the next couple of days and I never heard from the hiring manager nor the HR in spite of a couple of emails, I was never told, but I think they were put on a hiring freeze in March and the position was cancelled due the pandemic. I was thoroughly disappointed since I aced the interview ultimately, I did not get the job because of some factors beyond my control. I was sad since it would have been good to have Network engineering experience in Service Provider environment. Ultimately, I was sent an email after a few months, basically automated mail saying that position was cancelled.
General unsolicited advice: Since it is Service provider environment focus on BGP, MPLS, OSPF, Some basic firewalls questions. Try to go deep into these protocols even though you have no experience they try to see if at least have some conceptual theory. Overall, the interview was fair. Good luck to everyone trying to join the company. I hope you find what you are looking for.
