      Entretien pour Customer Success Manager

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez WalkMe (San Francisco, CA) en déc. 2016

      Entretien

I recently posted my experience of this process and would like to update it to reflect this company's honest and genuine caring of its applicants and future employees. My first screen was a general background conversation with the recruiter, about a week later I checked in, and got an apology that they hadn't gotten back to me sooner, and then was referred to the head of recruiting, who was wonderful. She let me know I'd already been approved for an onsite interview, and her sole purpose was to answer my questions, and she even connected me with a current CSM just to chat, before the actual onsite interview. Both had stressed that the most important thing I needed in order to be prepared was to know the value of the product for a client. I subsequently spent virtually the next 4 days studying the product in detail as well as the use cases. There was also a pre-onsite assignment (replacing the 'presentation' mentioned here in previous reviews) in which you answer basic questions on how walkme would apply to a complex website, and its use cases. Upon arriving to the onsite I was greeted warmly and even given a 'good luck packet' with some small goodies. I was originally supposed to be interviewed by the head of design as well as the manager, but the manager wasn't able to make it. The head of design did some basic role play with me, pretending he was a new client, ensuring I knew the product and checking to see how I would set up walkme with him as well as measure its value. It felt like we had a fairly good connection. The part of the interview that I found odd was that he asked me how technical I was, and actually started asking me about whether I possessed various technical skills, as well as asking me about features I thought were well designed or poorly designed on websites -- which was not something I was expecting. A week later I found out that another applicant had been chosen for the job. I asked the recruiter for a proper feedback conversation, and she made time for me, on the day before christmas to talk for 20 minutes, even though she had sick family she had to attend to. Again, super solid performance on the part of this company. She let me know they are still going through growing pains and the role I was being interviewed for was a new breed of CSM role for their enterprise accounts. They realized through the hiring process that they needed someone with an extensive tech background and actually hired someone with an engineering/design background. She took total responsibility that the 'tech grilling' I got from the head of design was unfair on their end and she'll take on my feedback to modify their process. She also let me know I was a 'close 2nd' and they'll be checking back with me when their 'regular' CSM roles open up. One of the BIGGEST "easy' wins I had in the interview was that I spent alot of time studying their website, their uses cases, and knowing their features, and this company was very impressed with that -- which should clue you in as to how to prepare for the interview to make sure you nail it. My strong sales background didn't hurt either in terms of what they were seeking. I sure hope to hear from them in the future - as I was beyond impressed at the high level of integrity and caring this company showed, every single step of the way.

      Entretien

The initial screening interview was conducted by HR person based in California. It was around 20 min and it was easy. The second interview was conducted by the local hiring manager. There should be like 5 interviews to get to job offer. Pro No surprise. Very much the standard job interview process is written in the textbook. Con Least welcoming job interview. -WalkMe is still a small company. I was expecting a startup-like culture during the interview but the interviewer sounds like from old school , a large enterprise business person where as some good tech startup companies actually try to get to know "you" as a person. -Also when I asked a question about the company the answer was very generic and it really didn't mean much.

HR Screen followed by various interviews with Hiring Manager, Peers, and other members of leadership. ' Recruiter was personable and responsive and offered thorough review of the interview process, the role and its reason for the opening, and the company. My only feedback would be that interviews should be interviews. During one of the interviews (which motivated me decide to not move forward), we did not discuss my background nor experience, nor were there any questions or general discussion about the the job and expectations. Instead the interviewer spent about half the time expressing their annoyance with lack of company loyalty/how people don't stay at jobs/companies longer than 1-2years anymore. The only questions asked of me was why I thought people don't stay longer, and how can companies deal with this. But I did not find to this be asked out of curiosity or spark discussion. It was more of a rant. I personally didn't find this to be very relevant to the opening-- so I interpreted it as a red flag and decided to not move forward in the process.

The team didn't seem interested in the process. They requested a massive home assignment ahead of time to be presented at the onsite to 6 managers. only one showed up and didn't bother to go over it before the onsite interview. Lacking creativity, expected me to memorize their website statements. Very poor experience.
