The interview process is no joke. You go through an initial 10 minute interview with a member of the Beijing office in which you teach a simple lower level lesson. If you pass, they determine your starting pay based on this lesson. PREPARE! They don't say it but they expect you to have props and a legitimate classroom setup from the get-go.
Mock 1 comes next which is essentially teaching for 25 minutes (half class is lower level, half is upper level) to a mentor. Your mentor will give you feedback to utilize in mock 2, if you move on to that point.
Mock 2 (intermediate level) is where things went South for me. The advice of my previous mentor and my mock 2 mentor was completely contradictory. My mock 2 mentor even contradicted himself multiple times in my lesson (the most important thing is to cover everything on each slide...then penalize me for covering everything on the slide because my student was already proficient) I really think your success comes down to your mentor(s.) They decide whether you're hired or not.
Every step in our recruitment process is aimed at ensuring we get the best teachers. However, there is always room for improvement. VIPKID is currently streamlining the support we offer to our applicants and further training to our recruitment staff. We hope we can see you in the process again soon!

just a quick demo lesson following the course materials, then a few logistical questions and talk about the program. Was quite quick and easy overall if you have teaching experience..
Pretty simple! There was a live and recorded portion where you "teach" a sample class. My interviewer was nice and helpful. Make sure your internet is good and use a wired connection

Easy and straight forward interview process. There is a demo teaching section. This was a while ago so it may have changed. The onboarding process was also easy. Again, this was a while ago, so it may have changed.
