Phone interview. Then a 2nd with the hiring manager. Did not get the job even though I myself am a USAA member and transitioning out of the Army! I thought i would have the upper hand being a member and udnerstanding Military life since I am currently active duty. It baffles me that they would pick a joe shmo off the street instead of literally one of their own,

    Never even got one. I really want to work for this company, while I am on a relocation for my spouse, who is beginning with them as a Manager. I had an official referral from another contact and Manager in the company, another referral from a Director and informed them my spouse was about to start with them as a Manager...Yet, I was ruled out from a position I applied to, because of the results of a computerized assessment test. Granted, my experience level and qualifications likely made me overqualified for the position, but I was not even contacted, in person, to discuss this position or any other possibilities. Upon contacting a person in recruiting about feedback, I was only told I could not be given any information about the results of the assessment, and that I could not try to apply again for 6 months! I have been a top performer in my claims adjuster role, for years, yet I am ruled out by a computer assessment test, after having been referred by management level personnel??

    There were two people, one typing what was asked, one asking questions in a small room.
    I did not get the job I was hired for, instead I got P&C, the whole pre hire process was an email nightmare!

    I submitted the application, passed the online test. I had a very good 1 hour phone interview. I had a face 2 Face interview with 2 managers one in person and one on conference call. They ask a few personal question that didn't pertain to the job , which I found odd because your not suppose to discuss personal information such as " what does your husband do for a living" " so you live a year without income" those questions are personal and irrelevant to the job and interview. I'm a very professional licensed skilled Claims Adjster. I'll never apply at USAA again, the recruiter and Managers enjoy waisting your time.

    Online assessment, then phone interview and finally in person interview.
    The first two steps were fine, the phone interview went well and the recruiter told me I did a good job. When I went to the in person interview, the lady from HR basically rejected me as soon as we shacked hands in the beginning.. (distant, cold and in a hurry)
    Apparently some of their employees make decisions based on emotions rather than skills and performances.

    The process from start to finish was nerve wrecking. If you're looking for something immediate, this is not it. There was a lot of time in between each step but in the end, it was well worth the wait! Application was easy to complete, then the assessment, phone interview with a recruiter that works with you every step of the way, then a face to face in the office with a hiring manager. If you survive through all of that, there may be a contingent offer and the background check and drug screen will follow. The background check is conducted by a third party so it may take longer than you hope but you can track the progress the entire way as well.

    Drawn out process over three months. Began with a telephone interview of which I waited six weeks,then informed that I had made it to a second interview . I waited for the second interview and thought it went very well then waited another six weeks for a decision.

    1) Contacted by a recruiter after online application and asked a few questions. Scheduled a in person interview for the following week.

    2) Interviewed with two managers which lasted nearly an hour. Very basic interview questions many of which were scenario based. Also questions pertaining to professional background.

    During this process make sure you do research on USAA and what they offer and why you feel you would be a good fit for their company. Mention their values and goals and how they align with yours.

    Relatively quick and very passionate about the people they hire. They go over all of the benefits and work environment really quick so you need to stop them and ask questions because they won't go back to them unless you ask. 32 days paid time off that includes holidays and vacation time. Do plenty of research on the job and what it entails because they do ask basic question about what you know about claims, houses, automobiles, customer service, and the clients they serve.
