    As a FIRST interview, I was asked to present a Public Mobile 2020 Marketing Strategy against a massive budget! They then dropped the bombshell that they will be doing this with candidates over the next few weeks! So x number of candidates dedicating x of hours over 4 days to put together the company’s plan?! Free labour?? You shouldn’t get freebies in the form of people ‘proving themselves’ in an interview. Could you ask an accountant to submit your taxes for an interview? Or general counsel to review a pending legal action and make recommendations?

    The team that you present to then takes apart your strategy as you present (fair enough - this is to test your conviction and approach), but how is one supposed to put together a proper plan with limited research and understanding on current challenges or business goals?! Three odd weeks later, you get a rude call back from the hiring manager as to why you weren't selected to move further in the process. Extremely arrogant and condescending towards professionals who have dedicated their time to your business! And what process? Asking candidates to present a year's strategy should be done in the final stretch. From the moment I heard that they were asking so many candidates to present a strategy to them, I thought "DEFINITELY not a culture I wanted to a part of. " A marketing plan/strategy is work! Paid for work! Plans aren’t just whipped up. Surely references, work examples etc could show the extent of one's experience. Cognitive and behavioural tests or a simple case study - that's the norm. This was downright wrong and an insult to top talent! Imagine taking everyone's hard work (for an actual 2020 strategy and not a hypothetical scenario), saying "thank you" and combining all the ideas for your perfect strategy. That is completely unethical!! Candidates, beware: if there’s unrealistic expectations for interviews, imagine how much worse the role could be!

    As for the hiring manager: Some poor candidates will do this because they really need a job and they think THIS will be the one. In my case, I HONESTLY thought my future was at Telus. Thank heavens I didn’t need the role. You're abusing power. Top talent like myself get hired really quickly and will be very busy acing their current job or settling into a new job while you abuse people for three weeks. I will be sure to share this experience with everyone in my network. Bye Telus!

    - 2 business analysts interviewed as candidate who was also being interviewed for business analyst position.
    - The senior business analyst absolutely non knowledgeable, in fact her contractor Indian analyst was way more knowledgeable.
    - My way of highway kind of cheap person at 7th floor slater st and extremely demanding as if she was herself a top manager. Absolutely illogical questioning.
    - Not sure how government gives contract to TELUS when this company has so ineligible incapable employees.
    - If you you want to have a career never join Telus. They are not the same TELUS as 3 years ago best employer. Contracting and outsourcing most assets and projects. Just join get to know system and join a better company.

    Really smooth and fun! I was astonished how cool it was in comparison to the other similar interview processes. I highly recommend Telus in that regard. While I'm writing it very hot headed, I think it is allright to say at least that Telus seems very interesting.

    Got an interview through online application. Though, there were was a job agent involved at the beginning of the hiring/interview process. Afterwards, there was a phone interview from company's HR before moving to face-to-face interview on site with the hiring manager. All interviewers are nice and professional.

    Got a call from HR to do a pre-screen interview within 2 weeks of applying. The pre-screen interview is casual. They went through my previous work experiences and asked questions to see if I had any transferrable skills. After the pre-screen I was booked for an in-person interview with the hiring manager and a few other members from his/her team. It was a panel interview style. They gave an overview of the role. Mostly asked situational questions that required STAR responses. Also asked very technical questions related to the role. They explained the next steps and the process was overall very pleasant.
