      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. J'ai passé un entretien chez SoFi en janv. 2025

      Entretien

My overall experience with this interview process was highly disorganized, and those involved showed little regard for the candidate experience. I was initially approached about the role and was curious to learn more. My first recruiter provided a general overview of the process, outlining the steps as follows: Recruiter Screen → Hiring Manager Interview → Virtual Onsite. However, this order was later changed without any prior communication. While I understand that processes evolve, providing candidates with a simple update would have been professional and appreciated. The initial recruiter screen took place close to the holidays, so I didn’t expect an immediate response. However, once the holidays passed, I had to follow up twice before hearing anything. Eventually, I was asked to formally complete an application and submit availability to meet more of the team—this communication came from a different recruiter, who mentioned that we would have a call to go over the next steps. After submitting my availability to meet with the team, I was scheduled for a virtual onsite the following week. When I reached out to the recruiter for guidance on what to expect, I received no response—radio silence. It wasn’t until the morning of the interview that I finally received an email outlining the four rounds and mentioning that I needed to prepare a presentation. This was a complete surprise, as I had asked in my initial recruiter screen if any preparation would be required and was told it wasn’t necessary. This left me scrambling to put together a presentation within just a few hours. During one of the virtual onsite interviews, an interviewer seemed completely unprepared, frazzled, and disorganized when I asked about the team and role, which raised concerns about the company’s internal organization. The rest of the interviews were fairly standard. After completing the interviews, I sent a thank-you note and was told the recruiter would follow up. Once again, I was met with radio silence. I had to follow up again before finally being informed that they would not be moving forward with my candidacy. Final Thoughts: While some interviewers acknowledged that they were working on improving the candidate experience, my experience was far from positive. The lack of communication, last-minute preparation requirements, and overall disorganization made this one of the most frustrating interview processes I’ve been through. I would not interview with this company again, and I hope they take actionable steps to improve their candidate experience in the future.
