The interview process was very long and thorough. I applied online February 20th . Received a email to do an online assessment test a few days later. Two days after I took the test I found out I passed and was to set up a phone interview. I scheduled the phone interview a week later so I could study for it. The phone interview lasted a hour. It was a very calm and enjoyable interview. The recruiter was very nice and casual and we spent a lot of time laughing and joking around. She asked me a few basic questions about my employment and education then went on to ask three STAR format questions. Give Very detailed answers and you will be fine. On the phone call I was told I did well and was moving on to do a background check. The next day I completed the background check and had a call to set up a in person interview a week later. The in person interview went just as well. I was greeted and was taken on a tour of the building then headed up to do the interview. The recruiter was a very nice lady , casual and laid back, laughed a lot. SHOW YOUR PERSONALITY!!! Make sure you give detailed answers and ask questions. I found out a week later I did well on the interview and they would be contacting me two weeks after the background check was complete. Two weeks later to the day I got a call from a recruiter offering me the job. Overall the interview process was very easy.

    I’ve applied on line for the call center position. The process took 5+ weeks. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Riverview, FL).

    Interview
    It's one of the most intense processes. There is an online exam and then a phone interview. After that there are two in person interviews. Plus you’ll get the chance to have a tour of the office meet and sit with a current rep in the company to see what you’ll be doing. It took a few weeks to go through the whole process but, it’s worth it!

    Scheduled phone interview that lasts 30 minutes to an hour. An interviewer asking pretty standard questions about your CS background, current and former job roles, and commute time. Once I told the interviewer I was an hour outside the call center the interview was essentially over. Everything before that was excellent. If you have a long commute I suggest withholding that detail.

    Applied online, got the assessment, got the phone interview.

    Well first off to give you a bit of insight: I'm a licensed property & casualty agent, as well as life and health, which progressive pays 500$ sign on bonus for having these licenses. I have over 15+ years customer service face to face as well as call center and sales.

    With that being said, this HOURLY entry level call center position seemed to be well in my reach right?

    WRONG.

    My phone interviewer was already upset as soon as we started the interview. Probably because of hurricane Mathew coming. I answered every question super detailed because I prepared for the interview ahead of time. It sounded like she barely typed anything at all, and just wanted to go through the motions.

    I knew it would be STAR format and all the same questions. I had my answers wrote down already prepared and formatted for each question. Even the company history and revenue information researched and wrote down in case they asked me and she did.

    It was clearly obvious I was talking way over her head, when it came to details such as CRM software, self prospecting, building rapport, handling angry customers etc. I don't think she had any idea. I tested this theory by asking her some questions to see if her comprehension was there, it was not.

     I got off the phone fairly confident that I got this because I have more then enough experience. She sent me a letter saying my examples were not complex enough, and I didn't have the skillset. You have to be kidding me! Almost opposite of what my responses entailed!

    The bottom line is, if your phone interviewer is uneducated, and your not, you might intimidate them with your intelligence. For overqualified individuals, don't waste your time, their low budget ghetto call center will weed you out. Only reason I applied is to supplement some of my costs I incurred running my own agency.

    I applied online with progressive and received a call back from a staffing agency who sent me a link to take a behavior and cs test...I passed, i then was told they would contact me at a later time...it was two weeks later and i got a call to interview a week out....My interview went very well and I was asked to move forward...I waited and finally got a call two weeks later to come in for my second interview...I really prepared for the interview and did a lot of research on the company it really helps...so my interview is tomorrow...Wish me luck!

    I put in the application early July 2016, a day or so later I received the assessment to take online. I took that and again, a day or so later I received confirmation that my scores qualified me for a phone interview. I set it up for about 3-4 days out to allow myself time to prep as I knew the hiring process was formidable after researching past interviews with the company and I wanted to be prepared. My phone interview day rolled around and it lasted for about an hour. The recruiter asked about 3 STAR method questions (THE METHOD THAT IS USED AND ALOT OF TIMES JOB SEEKERS DON'T TAKE TIME TO RESEARCH IT...DO YOUR RESEARCH PLEASE) and a few other questions related to past employment. At the end she told me she was recommending me for the next steps. I received my email to complete the additional info in the app as well as consent to the background check. While doing so, I received a call to set up my on-site interview. Again, I set this for abut 3 days out to allow myself further preperation time. Once my interview day came, I was nervous yet confident. And it showed throughout the process. I did my due diligence and researched the company thoroughly as well as wrote out numerous amounts of STAR method question and answers as it related to me. If you want something bad enough you'll put in the work and that's what I did. I'll be starting on Sept. 19th of 2016. My original start date for Aug. 22nd is full unfortunately but that's ok. I'm Uber excited because we all know getting hired here is super complex. Good luck everyone.

    Once I was offered the position officially. The pay was outstanding but I still wanted to negotiate because I researched and most companies leave room for negotiations but majority of the time it never takes place. I only had a little wiggle room so the recruiter stated but my request was granted. They have metrics they go off when determining your starting pay which I think are fair. You never know if you qualify for more if you don't ask, so try it!

    I applied on line and was contacted about three weeks later for the online assessment. I was told to look for an email or phone call over the next few days to schedule the phone interview. About a week later I received the email. The phone interview lasted about 35 minutes. I was told if I were to advance to the next phase, I would be contacted 24-72 hours later. I just did the interview on the 3rd so I am still waiting.

    The hiring process was quick for me. I did all my interviews, and hiring process all in one week. The questions were hard in the 1:1 in person interview, and made you really rack your brain especially if you weren't prepared, or aren't a great liar especially because you're put on the spot. A few of the questions I had never been in those type of situations before so it was challenging to come up with answers. For the Bilingual process you have to take a Spanish assessment.

    Overall I had a good experience but just a heads up for others applying ...it will be long and yes it will be drawn out but stay patient and keep an open mind ! This was the process I went through
    May 10th - Applied for position
    May 23rd- Complete online assessment and personality test
    May 24th- Results came back good and got invited to engage in phone interview .
    May 31- Had phone interview . Must answer in star format . Study about progressive and examples about yourself / work history . Stay upbeat and be yourself ! That same day I got a call from a recruiter inviting me for an in person interview
    June 20th- In person interview . 1-1 with two different people and shadowed an employee .
    June 29- Got a call from my recruiter at around 11:30 am for job offer . Offer accepted ! ( I had to wait longer for a call back then expected . During the interview I was told 2-3 days but instead got a call back 9 days later )

    TIPS FOR FUTURE CANDIDATES - study study about progressive and be yourself ! Be confident and relax ...heck have fun a little! Always smile even if the person interviewing you isn't . Star format is important but I personally didn't study too much about specific examples but mostly just thought about my work and school history and how that related to the job and just being very detailed about my response .

    Took the basic assessment. Was scheduled for a phone interview. Got moved to the next step immediately. Did the background check. Scheduled the in person interview. Did about 1 hour with their eat interviewer, 30 mins sitting with a tenured rep listening into calls, and finished up the last hour with the last interviewer. All star questions. Be prepared for multiple situations for the same question! got a job offer and accepted! it's been about 10 weeks from when I applied.
