I interviewed for a role at Abbott through Manpower. While the team at Abbott was professional, courteous, and enjoyable to speak with, my experience with Manpower as a recruiting agency left a lot to be desired.
I was contacted by two different recruiters from Manpower who were extremely persistent—calling multiple times in a row and sending messages back-to-back, even when it was clear I was unavailable. However, when I had a question or needed clarification, they were completely unresponsive until it was time to schedule the next interview.
The most frustrating part came during the scheduling of my second interview. Manpower pushed the interview through without proper confirmation or communication. I wasn’t sent a link or details, and had to follow up with the recruiter, who contacted the interviewer. This caused confusion and misalignment, making it seem like I had been overly eager or pushy—when in fact, I was simply trying to clarify the logistics. The Abbott interviewer was gracious and understanding, but it was clear the miscommunication created unnecessary tension and wasted time on both sides.
The lack of respect for my time and Abbott's interviewer and the disorganized handling of the process left a very bad taste in my mouth. I would be hesitant to work with Manpower again and would encourage them to revisit their approach to candidate communication and professionalism.
