The session was less of an interview and more of an orientation and educational session to inform everyone how to upload their documents and use the app. We were also instructed to take our picture and a picture of our car, then our cars were inspected to ensure that they were road-ready and safe. The first car inspection is free, but a second vehicle costs an additional $20. Everyone who came there to apply to become drivers had to also upload their car insurance, their driver's license, and then listen to the Lyft walkthrough that the educators showed on their phones. The entire process took a couple hours, mostly because the Lyft server kept failing and it took time to upload the documents needed to complete the application process. We were also told that there were different types of Lyft that we could inform customers about, namely Lyft, Lyft Line, Lyft Plus, and Lyft Premier.
