The interview process was really good, everyone who came was sorted into random groups and took on different activities. The first activity for me was asking general questions and filling forms, then giving demonstrations of soaps and massaging, after this we got asked questions (a fun fact about us, our best customer service and our inspiration in life) and finally we had to give a demo in pairs of a lush product of our choice and give our group an insight into the product itself. My only pet peeve about the interviewing process was the fact that even as an outgoing person myself, everyone else seemed very eccentric which felt intimidating, so if you aren't sure about applying then I wouldn't as my only feedback was to be more confident which was a bit annoying as I was actively involved in everything and I had been complicated on my knowledge and confidence when giving demos of soaps and lush products. Additionally, a tip I would give if you are applying for future reference is to come knowing you don't crumble under pressure and the question about customer service stumbled a few people whilst others had full blown stories on good customer service.

    Entretien

Emailed in my CV and covering letter mid-July, received an e-mail with an interview offer for beginning of August.

Interview was a bunch of group tasks. We were split into 4 groups of 4-6 people, one group would design a product, one would practice customer demos, one did a personalised shopper task (got given a scenario and had to chose products for it) and then the other was a mini group interview, then we would switch and all groups presented their finished product at the end.

Third and final stage was a shop floor trial. I found this the most stressful part as I felt I didn't know enough about the products to provide a personalised experience, but staff are always on hand to help and don't expect you to know everything.

The whole process was really fun and relaxed, really well organised and staff were fab. However, I have had other interviews at different Lush stores and found that not all of them are like this. One in particular was incredibly unorganised, the group interview had over 50 people in it and it was not an enjoyable experience at all. It really depends on the store and often its size.

The shop advertised in August for seasonal staff. They asked for a CV and covering letter detailing why I wanted to work for Lush and why they should hire me.
I was then invited to a group interview. We were divided into smaller groups and asked to find the perfect gifts for two customers (written on scenario cards), sell an item (individual task) and talk about our favourite thing.
Finally, I was invited for a 45 minute shop floor trial and interview. I was given tasks to complete - 5 demos, hand out 5 baskets.

I first sent in my Cv and cover letter online, my cover letter was nothing fancy like other people have described and it was pretty simple.
I then was offered a phone interview within a couple of days. During this interview i was asked seven questions.
On the same phonecall I was immediately offered a trial shift. ( you just have to be enthusiastic and know a few facts to get the trial shift)
At my trial shift i was taken to the back and given an apron the women was so kind and explained to me what she wanted to see on the shop floor,
This included greeting customers, asking them open questions and doing demos on them. Throughout the hour i was on the shop floor she kept taking me back and telling me how to improve or giving me pointers i didnt get the job as i didnt do enough demos and tbh i think thats for the best (it doesnt really suit me)

We went into the LUSH store (about 20 of us) and told us to get in a circle, then we were told that they were looking to hire about 8 people. They told us some other bits of information then asked us to say our name and an interesting fact about ourselves.
We were then separated into groups of 4/5 and given a sort of demo on a type of product (ours was bubble bars), which we then had to show back to the rest of our group.
After that we picked out pieces of paper from a bag with a type of customer (I picked out a couple) and we were told to pick 3 products from the store and then explain why we chose them to the rest of the group.
Afterwards we filled out a sheet with when we were available, and then a few questions about us.
Everyone at the interview was very nice and friendly! After we finished everything we all talked about what working at LUSH was like etc with the interviewers.

    Entretien

I submitted a CV and a cover letter online to Lush Oxford Street and a few days later I got an email back saying they were interested in my application and asked me to fill out an online form explaining my availability over the following few months and specifically over Christmas.

Then I was invited to a Lush Recruitment evening which by the time I arrived was absolutely packed full of people. We were organised into groups and were sent to do various activities.

The first activity I had to do was to, as a small group, make an object or item out of their FUN and relate it to what Lush means to us and talk back to the other mini groups.

We then went on to demonstrate a bath bomb to people pretending to be customers new into the store.

Then we had to point out an area in which the shop displays were deliberately messed up.

Then we were paired up and had to massage the other and practise listening and having the right body language, being relaxed and calm.

Then we had to demonstrate being staff and being customers.

The whole process was fun and at the end of it we were told that we could purchase something at the till if we wanted to and that we would find out if we were successful to progress to the next stage the next day. I got an email inviting me to a trial shift.

The staff were really friendly and nice, it made the evening feel less daunting, my advice to anyone would be to just be yourself, research the company and their practices and just don't let yourself get eaten up by others who may be more vocal than you.

Found out the position online on their website and sent a CV and cover letter. Was then sent an email later on about when the interview was going to take place. I came in early and waited outside (the place was locked while they prepared everything) with other people who were to be in the interview. There was roughly 30 people, which is intimidating since you all are trying to get the position.

When the doors were opened, the left a place to put all your belonging and then all huddled around an area where they told us our groups and gave us stickers to write our names down. The groups were split and there were 4 tables. I don't remember them all clearly however, the first table had perfume, the second had play-dough, third had a basket with items in and the last had hand products.

For the first table, I was teamed up with the person next to me and we both had to smell the product and tell everyone in the group what it reminded them of. You had roughly 3-5 minutes to discuss with them what you were going to say. I said that the scent reminded me of someone older and how it inspired me to be like them.

Second table task was to make an animal out of play dough, which was based off you. Of course they didn't care about skill, it was based on what you said. This is one of the most hardest for me since I don't really know much about animals and ended up saying penguins. Pretty dumb idea. Say dog or something since you can talk about their loyalty and how they are hard working and can learn new things.

The third table had a bunch of random objects that you couldn't see since it was under a blanket. You had to rummage in and grab the object and try to sell it. Avoid talking while other people selling their products.

The last was you demonstrating the product to a customer, aka someone in your group. They give you a demonstration on how to do so and then you do it on the person next to you. If there is an uneven amount of people in your group, expect one of you to work on the person who works there.

I can't clearly remember how long it took, but it did take a long time. In the end, you get huddled back together and told that you will all receive your results in a couple of days. If you do, you will then have a on the day test where you work for them for a period of time.

However, I didn't pass the interview stage since I tripped up on a the majority of questions since they were too odd and the amount of people their was off putting.

Would I do this interview again? No. Made me wondered how on earth they would remember you out of the 30 people.

It was a large group interview that took place before the store opened to the public. As an ice breaker we had to order ourselves by birthday, we could tell each other the month but not the date. We were then split off into twos and threes and assigned a product which we then had to demonstrate in a group to show that we could sell a product and interact with customers. After that we were switched around once more and asked to pick a gift set and a celebrity, and then explain why you would give them this in about thirty seconds; they do time you so be careful with your words and don't stay too long on a product.
It was slightly intimidating at first being in such a large group format but once you've split off to do various tasks the nerves do settle down a little bit.

Large group of people approx 75 in an interview at once. They are divided into groups of about 15 and assigned a part of the shop which they then rotate after a 15 minute activity. Activities included demonstrating a bath bomb, coming up with a holiday plan based on the scent of a given perfume, giving hand massages in pairs, role playing the shop floor introductions and creating a presentation/ molding with their 'fun' product. The team leader we were assigned really didn't seem like she wanted to be there, appeared to be uninterested and bored out of her mind. Didn't see her smile once which was strange as all the other staff seemed nice and welcoming. Not enough time was given during these activities and the process was rushed. Rarely got to speak my opinion as were constantly being hurried about. I wouldn't advice anyone to apply to LUSH unless they were pretty unique and out there. I'm not the loudest person but I'm pretty confident and I still felt pretty basic next to a lot of people there who visibly and very obviously stood out.
