The interview process was relatively long, first being asked for a covering letter and an electronic copy of my CV to the store I was applying to - following being successful in that first stage, I was invited to a recruitment evening.
The recruitment evening was a lot busier than I had initially anticipated, with nearing 30 others also attending after store opening hours. I personally didn't find it difficult at all, although as someone who is generally speaking quite happy to converse and chat with strangers (and doesn't mind making themselves look a slightly ridiculous at times), that will have likely made a difference as to how I felt the evening went.
It was mainly being spoken to by management and other permanent staff (who all introduced themselves in a friendly manner), and then for each of us to introduce ourselves and tell everyone a bit about what we were doing at present.
Throughout the couple of hours we were there, we were being watched by staff for confident individuals that were good at talking and happy to chat to strangers (we were paired off quite often to do small tasks).
If you made a good impression, you received a call/email to let you know and invite you back for a trial shift on the shop floor (it was an hour long) and then a one to one interview. I actually really enjoyed this experience and was interviewed by the trainee manager who was absolutely lovely!
Due to the lack of space in the staff room, we went to the coffee shop next door to the store and I was even bought a drink (which I thought again, was lovely) in all honesty, it actually just felt like a really genuine, nice chat and I got to talk about things that I'm quite passionate about (ethics/fighting animal testing/the high percentage of vegan products/campaigning/charity).
I then received a call very quickly (due to circumstances I had mentioned at the time) that they'd like to offer me a place as a temporary sales assistant.
All in all, quite enjoyable but I think that might depend on personality traits. If you're slightly shy and don't enjoy approaching people or talking in general, it might not be such a pleasant experience as mine was!

Started with communicating to others non verbally to workout everyone's birthdays in order to make a line, then a quick hi,my names...favourite product and birthday date, secondly we was teamed up into a group advertising a lush product with some paper information as well as visually showing the technique of the product, lastly we had to pick two products or a gift set to promote for a celebrity or fictional character, talk about how the products relate to them an that was it spaced within a hour. No interview Qs none personally directed more in the group interview the main things was: knowing lush products from the names to benefits they have helps loads if you shop there an already have knowledge on some items, confidence in presentation and flowing speech, also knowing your celebrity/fictional character well to positive int out the features on how they would suit them

The first stage is a group interview. There were about 16 of us, and we were one of four groups being interviewed across the process. We stood in a circle, were given some info from the manager then introduced ourselves. We then had to, in groups of 4, rotate on stations. 1st station was right to work, hours we were looking for and what we were currently doing. 2nd station was chose a celeb then pick out a gift box for them or create a knot wrap. 3rd station was the massage bar station, where we had to display out skills in the ability to learn quickly and avoid awkward situations with customers. 4th station was with the 'fun' product. We had to create an object that best described us, learn about the person to your left and present their object and why it represents them.

Second stage was the one on one interview and floor trial. Super easy questions such as why are you perfect for the role, favourite product, best thing about lush campaigning and odd questions like favourite thing about Christmas etc. Shop floor trial is a little nerve wrecking. Placed on shop floor for an hour or so, given feedback 3/4 of the way through on how I was doing and things to improve on. Do as many demos as possible and relax.

Group interview was fab, just me and 9 others. We got to talk about the item that represented us and it was pretty simple. Everyone was super lovely. But it got a bit boring and we were crammed in what I guess was the stock room and told to sit on the hard concrete floor, for like 2 hours.
After the group interview I got a trial shift - which was crap. Although working for Lush for even just an hour is good, I hated it and it wasn't for me. The women weren't as lovely this time. LUSH want you to be smiley the whole time and body language is key. I thought I was brilliant with talking to stranger, but not when I'm being forced to 'become their friend'.

I submitted a covering letter explaining why I wanted to be considered for the position along with my CV after seeing the position advertised online and a week later got invited to a group interview. The group interview was really nerve wracking as I was in a room with another 45+ people or so, way more than I was expecting. We were split into five groups and had to take turns rotating between activities. The first was demonstrating how to use a massage bar and role playing it as a sales associate and customer with someone in your group. After that we had to present a bath bomb and do a mini presentation to our group. (You could only choose one of three that Lush had brought to the interview and I hadn't used the ones they brought so I really had to think on my feet!) For the next activity a bunch of products were in the middle of table and you had to grab one and present it- the last two activities were just about your availability/personality. The next day I got a call inviting me to do a trail shift, (which surprised me tbh)
and a few days later I worked for an hour interacting with customers and giving product demonstrations. That was as far as I got sadly, as the applicant standard was really high on the trial shift according to the email I got. One thing I will say is make sure you know your products! Do any of the ingredients have benefits/ are the products good for certain skin types etc. That and be friendly, everyone in store on the trial shift was so nice/supportive I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I applied for a Christmas Temporary Sales Assistant for Brent Cross.
I handed my CV and cover letter online, through their email.
I received a response from them a week later, inviting me to a group interview (Recruitment evening) when the mall was slowly closing.

Baring in mind that this was my first interview ever, let alone a group interview it was a strange yet enjoyable experience. There were roughly about 10-15 of us and the staff members informed us about the competitive job role and any additional information about the company i.e. the pay rate being London Living Wage. The environment was very calm and happy, as well as the staff being really lovely and friendly.

The entire interview wasn't like any other job interview, there were different but very odd tasks we did in groups as well as presenting individually to the group. There weren't any too formal or stressing questions to answer since it was more talking, demonstrating and getting to showcase your personality to the team.

    Questions d'entretien d'embauche

    • We were first asked to create our spirit animal, using their 'Fun' products which are like moldable shampoo/soaps/bubble bath pieces. Once we finished making them, we had to answer why we chose this particular animal and how it links to our personality.   1 réponse
    • We were then assigned into groups of 3 or 4 and one person per group had to take out a 'mystery lush product' out of a box. Featuring this product, we had to create and perform a play in front of everyone in 10 minutes time.   1 réponse
    • The next task we were given was more of a technique practice as well as learning how to interact with customers and using 'open questions'. We were put into pairs, given a moisturizing bar and were shown a demonstration by the staff on how to apply and massage the bar on the arms.

In this task we had to speak to our pairs as if they were customers and start a natural conversation with them whilst applying the bar on them. We definitely had to show how confident and friendly we can be as well as using more open questions, getting to find out as much about the other person.

We were then asked to give feedback on what we found out about the other person, so make sure you remember!   1 réponse
    • The last task (from what I remember is the last) we each had to take out another 'Mystery Lush Product' from the box and we were given 10 minutes to find out everything about the product. Then to present to a member of staff in front of the group, acting out as if they were a customer themselves.   1 réponse

    Négociation

Just be yourself, practice and research about the company, use your initiative and be confident.

Firstly I was invited to a group interview where all of us there were put into pairs and learned about each other. We then had to introduce our partner to the rest of the group. After that we were shown a demo and had to find a product that was similar and demo it.
I received a call the next day inviting me to a trial shift where they would assess how I worked with customers.

After waiting a week for a call from them, I was rudely turned down, as well as being promised an email with feedback that I have never received

You had to send in your CV and a cover letter and after a few days they sent back an email that stated that i got through to the group interview. There was ALOT of people there for such a small shop, you could barely walk in there and it was rather intimidating. We got separated into groups to talk about christmas and then we had to make the perfect Christmas staff from FUN! Then we had to answer 3 questions, fill out a form and they gifted us with a few lush products and we left.
