Brief, and devoid of any interesting, insightful, or useful questions. Interviewers were unprepared, had not read my resume. Used the old, "baffle 'em with BS" technique, and these dimbulbs hired me on the spot.

    It's a joke. Nothing relative to the job at hand.
    5 or 6 general questions.
    Explain a time you didn't see eye to eye with your supervisor, what did you do?
    explain a time when you had to work as part of a group, what did you contribute and how did you work?

    General questions, and each answer is score by the interviewer based off of the answers they write down from what you say. If they wanted you for the position, they'll score each answer as a "5". If you're not someone they like, your score will surprisingly be 1 or 2 points short of getting the job.

    Go into the interview and answer each question like a book.
    OPEN MIDDLE CLOSE.
    If you start each answer by repeating their question, make up a story how it relates to your previous experiences, you fill in the middle with some details, and then you CLOSE your answer with the resolution that you created.
    This was the issue I was presented with, I take pride in being able to multitask efficiently, and by doing so I had 3 associates working with me in Appliances on the a weekend when there were multiple callouts all over. Appliances not being my normal area, but being a manager is, so I went in and let the associates work their routine, and I filled in to assist them so they could focus on the customers.
    As workload and customers change from hour to hour, once I didn't need 3 people standing at a desk, 1 went off to lunch, 1 stayed at the desk, and then I along with the last associate took the initiative and we identified missing product on the salesfloor, so together we pulled the 5 or 6 missing displays and got the showroom area fully stocked to show the customers that would come in we were ready to sell them.
    By that time, we were able to alternate lunches, I stayed back to cover them as they needed their breaks but on the fly, with a group of people I don't have a chance to normally work with, we were able to shine for the 9 hours we were together, and it created en environment where they could sell to the customer and push the programs for the Lowe's credit card and the extended service plans. I came in, assessed the situation, created a game plan, let the associates fell that they were choosing what assignment they were most comfortable with, but if I didn't agree there's a reason I would take the associate who was looking to do the least amount of work, the guy was going to keep up with my pace working alongside me to get his department showroom ready. I changed my responsibilities to maximize their time on the clock with customers and collectively we not only got the job done, but I also realized how versitile I truly was on that day, being the store's contractor guy, the manager of building materials, my regular day to day customers have different needs than the appliance customer but after the one day there, if the position had ever opened up I would have made a serious effort to join those associates who stepped up and worked together with the contractor guy.

    Just open your mouth, spit out dribble, push team effort, overcoming differences, showing compassion, a focus on the customer experience and how you always contribute to giving them that WOW customer experience and within a week you'll have a new job that'll take you nowhere. Enjoy.

    Behavioral interview questions. I did not expect such an impersonal interview, frankly. It would be prudent for anyone interested in these positions to practice cookie cutter answers using words that Lowe's likes to hear such as "family", "safety", "team", "values", etc.

    You apply at the store or online. Next you wait for a phone call and following email requesting an interview. Afterwards you interview and if they like you, they call you for a second interview. Afterwards you are offered a job pending background and drug screen results. They will do a cheek swab for the drug screen.
