The whole process took a couple weeks. The first is the home assignment followed by 4 rounds of technical interview. I liked how all the interviews started with some behavioral questions before delving into the more technical part. The feedback given was that I did really well in everything but the System Design, which I found surprising as I was not pressed on any of my solutions/approaches. I did not receive any sort of feedback during the interview that they weren't happy with my solution nor was I asked any probing technical questions. But the feedback I got from the Hiring Manager was that I did not answer the technical questions. Considering the System Design was more of an open-ended exercise where the cultural differences and unconscious biases of the interviewer might come into play and also this step in the process apparently deciding the outcome, I couldn’t help but wonder about the efficacy of the entire process and their organizational culture. The Hiring Manager kept me updated through the entire process, which was great.
