      Entretien

For someone who grew up in San Francisco, is connected to a good amount of people who either worked for or work for this company, I'm extremely disappointed in how my screening went. I say this not because I expected to get far because of my connections, but because I hold (and still hold) the company in high regard despite my poor interaction with my recruiter. Maybe I should rethink this though if this is the way interview process went. I was an internal referral. I had a 30 minute video screening with the recruiter. It was average at best. At the end she made it seem like I would be advancing to the hiring manager portion of the interview, only for me to be ghosted- I found out that I wasn't moved on by logging into the job site. How unprofessional. Additionally, I don't think she had any idea about the technical aspect that goes into Instructional Design and creating educational content. I had a feeling that things were going south when I asked her to "tell me more about the team" I was going out for when asked if I had any questions, and she asked me "What do you mean?" and seemed annoyed. Even though I was just in the screening process I was surprised I was overall treated this way, as one of the things I read about while doing my research is how employees had to take an implicit bias training if at all involved in the hiring process. I get that the company is upper echelon when it comes to Biotech, but it doesn't mean that potential talent shouldn't be afforded dignity during the interview process. Do better.
