The interview process was very straightforward and professional. The main HR person kept in regular contact to inform me of where they were in the process and what the next steps would be. The first step was an HR screen. That was followed by a conversation with the hiring manager. In both conversations, it was very clear that they were interested in making sure the position was a good match for both parties. In addition, the conversation was fairly evenly divided between them asking questions and me being able to do the same. In contrast to many other companies, salary wasn't a topic of conversation in the initial phone interviews. They focused on technical skills, knowledge and situational questions. A substantial number of other companies spent most of the time talking about the company and asking me about salary expectations - difficult to do if you don't really know what the job really entails.
The on site interview lasted a full day and consisted of many 1 on 1 interviews, a presentation and lunch with the hiring manager, followed by more interviews. Everyone I met was professional and well prepared. they asked thoughtful questions that made it clear they had an active interest in the process. They also made sure I had time to ask questions. The on site interview was followed by several additional phone interviews with people who weren't available the day I visited. They made an offer about 10 days later or so. The negotiation process was also very straightforward and pleasant. Ethicon and J&J in general treat their people very well and I think the Credo is very well reflected in the interview process.
Now that I've actually started the job, I can say it was definitely the right decision. I enjoy working here and find that the people seem to live the Credo and are happy here.
