Location Saudi Arabia.
Applied online; screening within a week; interview with “hiring manager” the week after.
Interview experience: The manager focused heavily on valves (inspection, casting procedures, design) and materials/warehouse topics (safety stock, inventory), with almost no procurement questions (no sourcing, savings, localization, or PR to PO, RFQ...etc). Midway, it became clear he was actually a Materials Manager, not Procurement. Several product-specific questions felt tailored to ex-Emerson or competitor backgrounds. When I asked role-scope questions, I was directed to “check the products page” instead of getting clarity.
Takeaway: The job title and interview scope didn’t match. If you’re a procurement leader, expect a materials/valves-technical interview instead of procurement and supply chain questions! All that fun happend while the recuriter and HR were attending the call, that gave me a great picture of how things might work inside this orginzation and their culture behind the picture they are putting.
