Denied instantly, a pleasant rejection letter although I didn't make it past the first round of the interview process. Hoping to try again in the future when I have sharpened my skills further and I can produce higher quality of work sufficient for this role.

I applied online and received a message from an engineering manager. The engineering manager interviewed me and then sent me to a second round. The engineer in the second round said he was excited to move me forward, but then I received a rejection email.

Quick, informal. Nice interviewer but they never reached out and gave me a yes or a no, they just ghosted me. On zoom. Hard to tell how I did because it was informal.

The hiring manager seemed really concerned I wasn’t willing to leave my job to immediately work for them (at the first phone screen mind you). They also never responded after said interview about where I was in the process

Talk with a recruiter Code screen Talk with hiring manager Virtual onsite interview My process was slightly weird and they made me do a separate coding interview after the onsite. Very strange. They forced me to use Python when I told them I was more comfortable with JavaScript. They mentioned that “we feel like you’re not comfortable with the language”, when I actually am? In the end, they rejected me because they said I “coded too slow”. This would be obvious because I’m forced to code in a language I’m not comfortable with right? Also, one of the interviewers was completely disrespectful of my time. They forced me to stay on the coding interview 20 minutes after the scheduled timeframe. Would not recommend interviewing here.

The beginning of the hiring process started off fine. I knew I exceeded the basic requirements due to my years of experience as a Project Manager and Salesforce experience. The hiring manager explained the company’s goals and their efforts towards DEI initiatives. After I met with the hiring manager, I met with the recruiter to answer standard HR questions. The next step was to meet with a peer and show her a deliverable that I had created in the past and present on it. This should have been a red flag for me but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. After this interview, I was scheduled for a loop interview that consisted of 4 people (including hiring manager). The initial 3 interviews went very well, however, after I completed the third interview, I received a generic rejection email. Keep it mind I still had one interview to complete on that day. I reached out to the recruiter for feedback and she stated that there was another candidate with more experience. That was it. This was my indication that the hiring manager never actually planned on considering me for the role. She just wanted to take my ideas and use them for their upcoming migration. I would caution anyone who is interviewing with this company especially if you are a POC.

While the interview process was long, the recruiter and HM made sure it still went by in a timely manner, maintained open communication, and provided me timely updates. Overall if you really want to work here, the process is able to really give you a glimpse to what it will be like and who you will work with.

Don't get biased by what I am going to say. ALL of the interviews and interviewers were great, I felt really welcomed by the company and my potential teammates. Everyone was kind and charming and even the more technical ones felt like a coffee chat and not a proper facebook-like interview. End to end the process was really amazing and the tech recruiters where driving me by the hand, also my potential manager was there to ask me and resolve any questions. The interviews where difficult but with the pleasure that these were all real world examples and things you would expect to work on the day by day. Even if everything went well and I passed the interviews although this should not be news for anyone, Cloudflare does not pay above market, more like it pays below with a total compensation + RSUs and I think that is fine and its faire because the company has a brand name (you can even check Matthew Prince's tweeting about it), what I do not realise is HOW AWFULLY they managed the after-interview process. The moment I said I wanted to see if there was room for negotiation they just closed the door and everything went sideways, I had to email them everytime to ask for a meeting or remind them that I was waiting for their answer. It is truly sad that a company with such present and future potential treats people that REALLY wants to work with them this way. I hope anyone who reads this do not have the same experience as I did, for me was something like an idol going down as Cloudflare was one of my top 5 companies to work for, ever.

The questions were easy but the interviewer was eating during the interview, which is rude. First is telephone interview with the hiring manager, then a test, follower by an interview with hiring managers boss.
