This was an initial Zoom interview after a few emails with the Director of IT. He was present along with a panel of other tech leads. They seemed friendly, happy in their roles, and well-organized. Unfortunately they seemed to care a lot about experience in hardware procurement and manufacturing processes, even though those didn't seem like firm requirements in the job description. I got positive feedback during the call, but then they followed up to say we would not have a second interview. I don't know what I could've done better except go work a sub-management role in a factory for a few years first. It's very tiring to have companies decline for a lack of experience in their specific field or industry. Why don't businesses give more opportunity to learn or bring in an outside perspective? So even though the folks here were pleasant and professional I have to give this a mixed rating. We all could have saved time with more accurate expectations.
