Entretien

Very tedious process. One 48 hr assignment on Word Density analysis. Next a telephonic roind of basic technical questions. Next comes onsite. 4 rounds of technical and behavioural and one 6 hr assignment on intelligent web crawling using machine learning classifiers.

    A phone interview, a coding challenge, another technical phone interview(coding exercise) and onsite.

    I gave three of these and then got the rejection. At first, it seemed very promising and I liked the company work. But very illogical rejection from the recruiter. In the third round, I was given the coding challenge which was very easy but weird thing is the illogical rejection.

    I went to the onsite interview in June 2017. It was normal during that day just like other onsite interviews. I asked them when I can get the feedback and they told me the team was quiet busy and will try to give me the feedback when they have time. But actually I know they were still actively interviewing other people.

    I was rejected and they told me the reason is that I did not do something in the coding assignment. The truth is that during the onsite interview I asked them whether I should do that trick in the assignment. They said no. I guess they did not remember what they said. They just randomly pick one reason to reject people.

    Note during that call, for the coding assignment, they told me they did not even look at the output of candidate's program. They don't have a tool to test if the output is correct. They also have their work for the assignment, during my test, my result was very similar to their results. I used just 4 hours.

    I applied online. Recruiter contacted me the very next day and scheduled a 30min HR interview. Pretty basic HR questions and HR seems to be impressed. She told me she will go ahead and submit my application to the team. 3 hours later on the same day she emailed me saying they will not be moving forward with my application. That's so shocking, why waste my time with your stupid HR interview. You should have contacted me only after team liked my profile. Please don't waste your and our precious time with your insane recruiting process.

    1. Writing a web crawler (2 day project).
    2. video interview ( 2 rounds)

    First I was supposed to have the technical interview and then a behavioural interview. But the technical interviewer wasn't ready/ they didn't know where he was so they apologized for making me wait and decided to go on with the behavioural interview first. The product manager was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Next was the technical interview, some of the questions were kind of vague. They didn't make me do any kind of coding (I don't know why). Overall, it was an okay experience. They didn't ask me anything that was posted on glassdoor for this company.

    A week later they tell me they are using "higher measurements of scrutiny to each candidate".

    It was firstly a phone interview followed by a 48 hour assignment. Then, a online coding test where interviewer asked questions on the phone and I was supposed to write down code on google doc. I went pretty well in the interview, but I was rejected.

    Applied Online. Got a reply next day. The entire interview spanned over a month's time. The first round was a 48 hours coding assignment which involved HTML parsing in either Python or Java. I did in Java. Heard back from them in 24 hours of the completion of the assignment. The next round was a technical round on data structures and algorithms, and open-ended design based questions. I heard back again the very next day, and they scheduled the final rounds (onsite round) - a couple of technical and behavioral interviews followed by 5-6 hours coding assignment and a close-out interview (which was both technical and behavioral based). The following week I got a positive feedback, and offered a position.

    Overall, it was exciting interviewing with BE. The HR team is extremely co-operative. The people I talked to (including the CTO himself) seemed to nice and proud about what they do at BE, which is great!

      3. Given a bunch of incoming keywords from huge number of users which need to be processed, how would you go about optimizing the processing of these keywords.
      4. Given a running string of people reporting to whom and their position, print out the hierarchy in a particular format as given by the interviewer.
      5. Given a bunch of URLs, determine the closeness of the urls. You should be able to determine the keywords that make them similar, and that make them distinct from each other. Also, quantify a metric to rank their closeness (5.5 hours coding assignment)   Répondre à cette question

    Online test->One round phone interview->One round behavior->Onsite. It took about one month totally. For the onsite, there are three round, first and second are technical, someone will ask you some basic questions about system, database and algorithm. For the third round, it is a project about a crawler, you need to finish it in one afternoon.

Get back from HR in a few weeks. spend 10 hours finishing a web crawler, then I was told they were hiring freeze, like after 5 business days after HR contacted me initially?!! if they were at hiring freeze, why they gave candidate super long coding assignment in the first place??

    One round of on-compus interview, one on-line code challenge, one round phone interview (behavior), and one final on-site interview. The on-site interview involves 2 interviews and one code-challenge. The whole process takes around 4 weeks. The process is a little depressing, and you can feel the competition between you and other interviewees.
