    Entretien de Benefits Specialist

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme - Plano, TX (États-Unis)
    Offre refusée
    Expérience négative
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

    Entretien

Very misleading up to the interview date. The position they reached out to me about was for benefits specialists or coordinator for a team of specialist - basically, they want you to sign up as "benefits specialist", a title that masks what that job position is actually for, which is an insurance salesman. And the coordinator position is "granted" after you sell a # of insurance plans. When questions were asked prior to the interview via email, the recruiter insisted that i come in for the interview and ask the director in person. No where in the email did it say this was a position primarily in sales, the word 'sales' wasn't even mentioned when that's what that job is for. When I walked in, i realized that this was a group interview, and the interview was actually a sales pitch for what aflac is to their interviewees. Basically, they should have paid us for our time for their sales pitch. a second interview is given to those that are interested in pursuing the sales position after the pitch. There were 3 ladies and 1 gentlemen there for the interview, and at the end of the "interview", 3 ladies walked out without interest and 1 gentleman stayed, not sure if he had follow up questions or what, but the 3 ladies all voiced our feelings of being scammed on our way out. People had to take a day off from work for this interview. Prior to scheduling an interview with candidates, an ethical company would disclose that it is a commission based sales job, and that you'd be required to drive around in the field for recruitments. It's a pyramid scheme type of sales, where you move up a branch if you complete a # of sales. There's nothing wrong with sales, but you shouldn't mislead serious job candidates with this nonsense. And if the goal was to educate the public via masking the interview process as a sales pitch, guess they succeeded in "educating" but failed miserably in winning the potential customers over since people walk out of the interview pissed off. The "interview" was consisted of explaining their sales packages and commissions. Case closed, it's a sales job. Stop lying and wasting peoples time.

    Entretien de "District Coordinator"

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme
    Offre refusée
    Expérience négative
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 2 jours. J'ai passé une entrevue à Aflac.

    Entretien

Like others have mentioned here, it's basically a semi-legit pyramid scheme, in other words, a scam.

I received a random email asking me that there is a position for "district coordinator position, a leadership position" open. No where did it mention what the actual job was, which is a insurance salesman. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but be honest about it instead of trying to hide it.

The first "interview" was basically a group meeting where the regional manager pitched Aflac and its products to the "interviewees", and how great it was and how much money you can make.
I went in for a second" interview", with my hopes high. This is when I saw what the job actually was for, an insurance salesman. They mislead you into thinking you can make tons of money by selling insurance, and sugar coat it by touting things like "stock bonus", "renewal compensation", "holiday vacation trips for top sales performance", and a bunch of other garbage.

They do not tell you, that there is NO BASE SALARY, and it is 100% commission based, and the management has an incentive to recruit as many people as possible, because then they can leech off whatever insurance you sell at no cost to them.... basically a pyramid scheme.

As a result, they will hire anyone with a pulse and two legs, because there is no cost to them: there is NO BASE SALARY. It doesn't cost them a dime to hire people, so they go and bring in anyone they can as long as you're of age and can walk.
Plus, you pay for your own insurance course, your state insurance exam, your training. It will cost you hundreds of dollars to get started, and you don't make a cent, because the market is so oversaturated with Aflac agents.

I'm glad I saw through them, and decided not to join them.

You don't know these facts until you actually go through the "interview process" with them.

Kind of difficult. Maybe because I was not prepared for it. But if you search things up for example some questions that you feel like they might ask it will not be as difficult. And there is two interviews to it.

    Entretien de District Coordinator

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme - Northglenn, CO (États-Unis)
    Offre refusée
    Expérience négative
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

    Entretien

Katherine Anderson in Northglenn, CO (Loveland office) reached out to me about this "competitive" position. I blocked off time in my day and showed up to interview but it was nothing more than a group style PowerPoint sales pitch - complete waste of our time. Don't reach out to salaried professionals with established careers asking for an interview and then waste our time with this commission based pyramid junk. It's a poor reflection of Aflac and generates a negative image.

    Entretien de Sales Representative

Employé anonyme - South Bend, IN (États-Unis)
    Offre acceptée
    Expérience positive
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

    Entretien

It is a two step interview. The first one is usual, they ask you questions. They get to know you and know your interest in their company. They try to see if beyond the professional side you are a good person. Then, if they are satisfied they ask you to come back for a second interview. This interview is supposed to be you asking the questions. You come back with all the questions that you may have and they take the time to answer them.

I was emailed by a recruiter, replied in no uncertain terms I had been through the Aflac interviews and had no desire to cold call. She did not return my calls but sent two more emails indicating the position entailed managing established accounts, etc., . So what happens? I find the office in some hellhole in an industrial park to discover this was a group interview. Lame AF

Didn't do much. If you're competent in anything, you'll do well. You're a dime a dozen, so they'll take anyone, really. Just say that you're excited to work at Aflac and they'll bring you in.

    Entretien

I received an email that said they liked my resume with a web link to set up an interview in a location about 15 miles from my house. I replied to the email and requested the name of the position and asked if it was salaried ir 100% commission. The response i received was "Compensation is actually not my department. However, what I do know is that we offer a very generous 4 tiered compensation package that includes lifetime renewal commissions and stock in Aflac. You really need to let my Sales Coordinator explain it on Thursday if you come in for an interview. " the job title changed on the 2nd email. then i received another mail that said thank you for applying, we will see you at XXAM on Thursday. Since i did none of that, I cancelled all correspondence with AFLAL. considering reporting the email to google as Phishing.

    Entretien de Benefits Specialist

    Candidat à l'entretien anonyme - Manhattan Beach, CA (États-Unis)
    Offre refusée
    Expérience négative
    Entretien facile

    Candidature

    Entretien

Applied via University Website. Received a one line email to schedule same day interview within the week (warning flag 1). I rescheduled for the following week in Manhattan Beach, CA. The interview took place in a startup/co-op building where companies rent office space and have shared spaces (warning flag 2).

It was a group interview (8+ applicants of all ages/levels) where the District Manager gave you an hour presentation about Aflac. He briefly went over 4 different roles (only 2 are entry level, the rest you must get promoted within). The rest of the time he explained the basics of Aflac insurance, commission ONLY pay, and the MANY benefits/trips he has had with Aflac. He did not spend more than 5 minutes on the roles that we had applied for (warning flag 3).

Afterward, he spent 3-5 minutes with each candidate to review their resume, directly ask their salary requirements, and decide if you would have a 2nd interview with him. While I did get asked back for a second interview, I later declined due to the many warning flags I saw.

I am not even sure how this role requires someone with a college degree as the Benefits Specialist you basically enroll/sell small business owners to Aflac "at no cost to them". It's a B2B sales job. I went because the company had good reviews, but this interview process made me think twice. Also, parking was NOT validated so I paid $15 to basically have an Aflac presentation. I did pick up a nasty Cold during this interview so that was the last straw.
