Avantages

There are a lot of pros for this company - I feel that it has been massively put down in some of these reviews by current employees.

Expenses:
The expenses package is very generous. You get accommodation, food and travel paid for during your working week. Your flight and transfer costs are also absorbed by the company.

Training:
Training for the Capital Markets Programme is somewhat intense - you have workshop classes for your first few weeks to prepare you for the CMTP modules you have to complete over a two year course. There is also a focus on PRMIA examinations - this gives the candidate accreditation in Risk Management, which for young employees with little experience is an incredible boost. This is also paid for by the company.

Social:
The company is filled with well educated and sociable people. The company organizes get-togethers for staff to meet outside of the workplace. This could be dinner and drinks, paintballing, watching a match... Nearly anything.

Opportunity:
There are incredible opportunities for travel. You could be sent to Singapore, New York, London, Sydney... The potential is endless. And with the great expenses package this is very appealing.

Management:
There is a plethora of fantastic managers within the FD system. I have had little or no issue with them in my time here.

Inconvénients

The only con I can list is that the HR/Accommodation team need some more experienced members. It seems that there is a lot of placement students and not enough experienced hires - which can lead to confusion or error in some respects.

Conseils à la direction

Extensive training for new HR members so that the company can continue to grow globally. A few extra members of staff in this department would be helpful also - this would ensure smooth operations between departments.

    Avantages

There are no positives aside from the fact that you get paid every month. If you are in any way good with words you might be clever enough to present the complete lack of experience you might have gained during your tenure in FD with a positive spin.

    Inconvénients

It's blatantly obvious that HR are writing positive reviews on this site. Present and potential clients are slowly but surely copping on to how much of a bad apple this company is, and internal staff are scrambling to concoct reviews to try and salvage the mess. This company does not care about you, HR does not care about you. You as an employee are a few generated for the company. No more and no less. They are always hiring because employees are always leaving.

The three month notice period is a complete joke, for a company that disregards its employees it makes a hard job of letting them leave. It is so unbelievably hard to try and take any sort of experience and take this going forward into new opportunities outside of this company.

Do not be blinded by the all expenses bull, it's not much good when realistically the company doesn't care about you professionally or personally. The title of financial engineer means diddly squat when at the end of the day you are doing the tasks that banks aren't prepared to pay their own staff to do. From my experience there is almost always hostility from permanent staff at financial institutions when you are the hired hand. So if you're happy working 10 hour days doing the most boring unrewarding work in a hostile belligerent environment then apply away, but remember FD are good enough to pay for the groceries!

    Conseils à la direction

    Scrap HR
    Scrap the expenses department
Scrap everyone and start from scratch
Hire a professional team of people and create an accountable, clear corporate structure not a gang of old school cronies and relatives.

And stop hoodwinking passionate, eager, hardworking graduates.

    Avantages

    Great expenses package and benefits
Living in central city accommodation - all costs are paid for
Very friendly and young company - opportunity for a lot of networking
Good access to resources if required
opportunities to get put on interesting and beneficial projects on client site - preferences can be voiced to the HR department.
Overall a very good company to work for - have had a very positive experience.

    Inconvénients

There are less benefits for employees working at HQ.
Graduate programme graduation is reliant on passing formal exams - should focus more on employees performance in the workplace and on client site.

    Conseils à la direction

A revamp of the graduate programme could be beneficial - maybe a bit less focus on exams and more focus on performance, how employees are doing on client site and client feedback.
