    Lots of bait and switch

    Avantages

Working from home, choose your hours (if they're available)

    Inconvénients

Don't come in as a new agent planning to work the popular hours (like during school hours or overnight), you will not get that right away. Arise uses a tiered-method of allowing agents to select hours, and until you work yourself to the top tiers that get to choose first, you're going to be left with the undesirable hours that are left. And if you can't work the minimal required hours because of this, usually 15 hours a week, they will drop you. Also, as far as bait and switch...I have signed up for 2 clients in a row that advertised as being chat/email only, which is what I was looking for. But a week into training, they decided to switch to "omnichannel", which meant we would be taking incoming customer calls too (and would be the majority of our contacts, we would not be able to choose to just take chats/emails). I feel this was done intentionally just to get agents to sign up for the client opportunity because they were desperate for agents, so entice them with a highly desired chat opportunity! Then say "oh no, sorry, you're taking calls too" when it's too late to drop the course, no refund offered even though it was NOT what we signed up for. Having worked at a horrible brick-and-mortar call center in the past, I honestly believe I have PTSD from that experience and will never put myself through that again. I finally got on with another chat client, and I start training next week. If this one pulls a bait and switch again, then I am done with Arise.
